I mean, kind of background noise when you don't really feel like watching TV or paying attention, but just interesting enough that you kind of like turning to it on some random weekend afternoon, or midnight, when you wake up in the morning and are half listening to it while you're lying in bed and occasionally pay attention to the story?
For years, it was Rules of Engagement for me. That show I always found myself watching on Syndication, and not it's my go to Netlix show when I'm not in the mood to watch something that I want to devote my full attention to.
These days, after discovery the bizarre greatness that is the Hallmark Channel, I've grown to quite like the Middle. The characters are all pretty likable, the story I can kind of get behind, but not quite enough to follow all the new episodes on ABC or DVR everything and sit down and binge watch all these shows in order.

I remember it being like that with "Yes, Dear." The show was mainly average at best, but I enjoyed it. It seemed that the creators did better with "My Name Is Earl" and "Raising Hope."

I caught a few episodes running in the gym and it was really good. That cast is so damn charming.

Most of those American missing person or unsolved murder shows on Crime and Investigation.
Almost all of them are based on white women from some sleepy suburb who go missing for years until one day their hat is found, or something like that.

Absolutely The Middle. It was usually on when I got home from work and just needed something in the background while I ate my lunch. Soon enough, it just kind of became a daily ritual.

I recall really enjoying COACH in this capacity when it was in syndication......gosh.....in syndication on USA many years ago, I wanna say? Never watched it when it originally aired (I've never been a sports guy, so MEH) but it really clicked when it was on daily in reruns a few years later. Jerry Van Dyke was just gold, and so many people on that show just got how to do a good sitcom.
Oh, and BATMAN BRAVE AND THE BOLD - first episode I saw was the Atom/Aquaman/Chemo/Brain ep, and I was horrified. Had no idea what they were going for. Around the time the show ended I watched an episode or 2, and it was better. I bingewatched it on Netflix a while after, and by the time I was done with season 1 I was running to Target to buy all of it on DVD (I think all but Season 3 Part 2 was out, all at my local Target too). God damn, was that a great show once I got it.

I pretty much always have either House Hunters/Some renovation show, or some food network thing on in the background
Completely inoffensive, occasionally neat, totally safe to watch with a baby around.

SVU. My wife watched it all the time and it was background noise to me. Once I started actually watching it, I was hooked.

Nothing really. If I want background noise I will put on a DVD/Blu ray of a TV show I have already seen. Like how right now I got on season 1 of Partridge Family.
