Used the free app to listen to my local station now that I moved away, until I got Sirius. And I'll never go back from Sirius. It caters to me.

HD Radio didn't catch on before this, and well I sometimes used it but not much, pandora is usually better.
And I preferred going to the radio stations website and listening that way.

I really can't claim to be surprised. The exact total definitely, but their PS4 app is a buggy pile of crap that routinely crashes for no reason and that is prone to just going silent when commercials end.

I don't feel bad at all for iHeartRadio. Satellite radio is where the future is,, although they should have a few free channels to introduce people to.

What I also "love" about the app is when you listen to a channel and go through the playlist... That's it. You can't go back or listen to it anymore. Especially if it was buggy and skipped a lot. Which it would. |

In seriousness, it's multiple aspects that aren't limited to but including multiple yearly concerts & awards shows, excessive advertising without a means for sufficiency, expecting ads on their radio stations & app will pay back their outgoing revenue, and more. |

They own about 75% of the stations in my market so hopefully they will sell a few and we can get some actual variety and non corporate owned stations.

I used to work for Clear Channel/iHeart before they sold their TV branch, effectively destroying the station I worked for and costing me the best job I ever had in TV. It was long in the coming. Also, not surprising that their execs are getting bonuses in the face of bankruptcy. F***ing scumbags. |
