A really terrible Half-Life fangame was released this week and has been getting skewered online. It features a lot of youtubers doing voice work. Including I Hate Everything. IHE recently talked about how horrible everything went with it and his regret in getting involved.

Yeah, shit like this is why Black Mesa Source took so long to be released. Quality takes time, especially when you don't have strong financial backing. And yeah, the fact that it's on the storefront, for 23 bloody euros, further highlights the massive issue Steam has with the complete absence of quality control on what they sell, to the point Valve apparently doesn't even care about other people tarnishing their own franchises' names and charging a ludicrous price (i.E.: any) for it.
BTW, if any of you guys is itching for some more Half-Life action and can't wait another century for Valve to get to it, Black Mesa really is damn good. It actually feels like it belongs in the Half-Life universe, be it in terms of gameplay, visuals or atmosphere and its not just the original games but prettier, they actually changed some of the level design, weapons, gameplay mechanics and added new events so it stays fresh so even if you know the original game by heart, it takes you by surprise.
Oh, and it's less expensive than this broken piece of shite. Actually, I'm not sure if "broken" is adequate considering it's blatantly half-finished at best. Can something be broken if it was never whole to begin with? Truly this game asks deep questions. Here's Jim Sterling ripping it a new one, listing every problem with it and getting quite annoyed with it. Language warning, obvs:
