Asuka losing. It was pointless and wasn't handled well as a whole. They should be scolded over that for years. I've said this before, but if WCW did something like that, it would be roasted on every Monday Night War propaganda piece from here on out.

Bryan returning is the only thing that will actually still matter in 3 months time, so that. I actually think that may be the key reason to this weird booking decision. Now that they have back the most over babyface they’ve had in almost two decades, they might just be sick of pushing Roman as the top guy and failing. Turning Roman heel and making a long feud with Bryan your big program would obviously make a ton of booking sense. Simply put, now that Bryan’s back, there is just no reason whatsoever to keep pushing Roman as your top babyface, in the short-term at least. As for the biggest story of the night, I don’t think it was just Roman losing but the way the match played out was almost as bad as anyone could have predicted. It had no heat, there were beachballs in the crowd, “Boring” and “This is awful” chants, and the audience was split between booing Roman and just not caring at all. Yeah, but there's still a brand split. I figured they wanted Bryan to anchor whatever show Roman isn't on.

Asuka being a wife and mother.
Charlotte brought it up in her post match interview.

I went with Daniel Bryan's successful return. He looked great, and it was a moment of genuine emotion.

But Smackdown is firmly established as the B-show and whoever is the top guy there is not going to be seen as “the face of the company” in the way that Hogan, Austin, Rock, and Cena were. And Vince is hellbent on making someone “the guy" for this generation.

I thought there might be shenanigans in Roman/Brock but for me it's Asuka losing. That one really came out of the blue for me.

Nakamura's heel turn. Really looking forward to SD because of it. Brock retaining is a very close second because if it isn't Roman who's dethroning him, who is?

It has to be Brock winning in the main event. After all, its the most important part of the show, and as a result of Lesnar beating the crap out of Roman Reigns and leaving the dome as Champ, the entire male Raw roster was shown to be second rate.

Other: Rusev Day being over as much as Yestlemania but not even being given the dignity of getting screwed by The Authority in the US Title match loss (even though he had an extra guy like Jinder did)

What about serious gay Balor? This is a thing right? I thought this forum would have exploded but there's hardly no mention of it. Am I missing something?

Some of the results were shocking but not completely inconceivable to me, like Charlotte and Lesnar winning. Cena getting squashed like that however was stunning.
I used to think The Rock was the most selfless top guy ever but I can’t even see him getting beat like that, or like Summerslam 2014. And I really can’t see it happening to Austin/Hogan/Bret/HBK/HHH/Roman either. The guy who is still the biggest star in the company and still in great physical shape got destroyed in under three minutes on the biggest show of the year. I can’t even think of anything comparable to this in history.

After seeing Nicolas toil on the indies of Albany Extreme Pro and his work overseas last year in Some Japan - not to mention his showing in the 2017 Battle of Palo Alto tournament, I'm thrilled to see him crowned champion on the big stage.

He's spent the better part of a year putting Jinder over. Guys like Jericho and Foley too seemingly lost to anyone and everyone. I was thinking along the lines of company aces though. Guys who were THE top guys.

Strictly saying coming out of it...because we already knew beforehand Bryan would be wrestling...then I'd say Rousey's good performance, Asuka losing and Reigns goobering it up in the finest traditions of Lex Luger.

Biggest story is Roman losing I think. That's kind of crazy when you consider we had things like Asuka's 2 year+ winning streak end. This show was just filled with baffling decisions. I can only think of one show in recent memory that was more baffling than this one.
Jinder winning the US title over Rusev Day? Charlotte winning with a gimped Figure 8 and Asuka tapping so quickly? The fact that Asuka lost was fine given how powerful Charlotte has been the past couple years but there were other moments in that match that should have done it. This was just a bad choice. Stephanie stopping the armbar several times and getting as much offence as she did (though I will admit the match was entertaining even if I genuinely worried that they would have Steph and HHH win). Shane getting as much offence in as he did. Dude was suppose to be recovering from a hernia, was attacked prematch and still fended off two of the top guys on his show for several minutes. Alexa getting as much offence in as she did. They had the perfect moment to end it when she tried to get out with her title and instead they kept it going and then she started dominating Nia of all people. Braun beating the most dominant tag team on Raw solo, with little effort. The one that has recently had a story line where they beat every single team on the show recently (though there were the weird freak losses to Titus Worldwide). I feel like there were more but honestly that's quite a few and they don't even touch the colossal eff up that was the Roman match.
