I just saw a commercial for this movie, and.........spoiler space in case it's not been seen/heard by all, because it's a hell of a doozy... {Spoiler}They actually have Michael Buffer in this movie, and he actually says "LET'S GET READY FOR DUMBOOOOOOOOOOOOO." Like......seriously. It's not just a voiceover, they show him in the actual movie.

My big worry about this is it's gonna focus more on the children and humans than Dumbo.
I dont give a toss about humans. Just show me the cute elephant.

Ran into a buddy on his way to an early screening. I didn't even realize those were happening yet.

Movie's at 55% on RT right now. Consensus seems to be that it feels more like a corporate product than anything which doesn't really surprise me.

I always maintained that I'll stick with the original classic animated film. To be completely honest the story of "Dumbo" always depressed me to a degree, experiencing those unique sentiments has me avoiding films in similar vein like the plague. A friend of mine tricked me into watching the live action remake of "Pete's Dragon". Never again will I be in a theatre by myself bawling my eyes out and I could already tell "Dumbo" is going to be more of the same.

Just watched it.
What a boring, uneventful, pile of shite.
The only lasting impression is Michael Keaton really does channel his inner Vince McMahon and I wouldn't mind him playing the genetic jackhammer on the big screen.

Projected to have done $45 million for the weekend, below the $50 million Disney was saying and the $65 million some were expecting. Looking like the movie's going to have to do well internationally to make its budget back.

Watched it over the weekend with the wife: it was the Drew McIntyre of movies. On paper it looks like a good but holy shit it... well, more or less has no "IT" factor and ends up being boring as hell.
Keaton is the only real positive I got but even the best Batman can't salvage this movie that has no reason to exist. This film will end up being the 2019 poster child for "Nobody wanted this, nobody asked for this"

Looking like the movie's going to have to do well internationally to make its budget back. it's a shame that Disney spent all their money buying empty Marvel theaters and couldn't help here... that said not really surprised this isn't doing well... Dumbo was never really one of their heavy hitters despite everyone knowing of it.... and well... it just looks like such a nothing of a product in all the advertisements I've seen.

Well, if the elephant that played Dumbo didn’t go on record as saying that he didn’t want any humans on the press tour...

Saw it today. Sad to report it was very unremarkable. I would actually say I was bored at times.

Thus far is at $267 million worldwide. Given it's got a $170 million budget and is projected to need to hit $500 million to break even, think it's relatively safe to call this one a flop.

Well...good! I hope it bucks the trend of adapting animated classics. Jungle Book was fantastic and refreshing, but it's getting lame and pointless.

Going to sound like Bryan Alvarez and say...it was... fine. Had some good performances but needed something was off with the pacing. I can see how kids can would enjoy it. I still have faith that the Lion King remake will be good.

Is the movie focussrd on the boring humans more than Dumbo like the trailers seem?
Because i dont care about people. A flying elephant, cool. Annoying kids at a circus and a sad clown, get out.

Remember when Tim Burton was good? He was really f***ing good up until about Planet of the Apes, then the consistency just evaporated.
Seriously, look at this list of movies he directed up through Big Fish
Pee-wee's Big Adventure Beetlejuice Batman Edward Scissorhands Batman Returns Ed Wood (his best, IMHO) Mars Attacks! Sleepy Hollow (Haven't seen it, but mostly heard good things) Planet of the Apes (First real stinker) Big Fish (very close second best)
