Tbh beforehand a lot of people thought this show would be awful..
I don't really know what to say but I really enjoyed how the crowd were all night, it was an amazing show, and they were on point. Far better than anyone gave credit.
I know it's probably not a popular opinion but they deserve another show as much as the UK, Canada or whoever.

Decent enough crowd. Popped some, were respectful throughout, and somehow managed to make it through despite that show ending at like midnight Saudi time.

It's important to remember that regardless of what we think of other country's governments, human beings live there. I saw little kids having a blast in that crowd that I bet had never seen wrestling live before.
It wasn't just kids either. I saw guys in their 30s and 40s with their wives (true no women alone...) and they seemed to be having fun.
I know it's easy to mock them for what they consider progressive but have to start somewhere. I thought it was positive. Hey for all we know next year there could be another one of these and they'll want the women too.

They seemed kind of subdued. But I only caught the rumble match so maybe they were just tired or something.

The show was basically a house show with a massive budget and it showed.

I prefer my crowds to react to more than like two matches and also face the ring sometimes.

Didn't see the ppv yet but I hear Roman didn't get unanimous cheers like the company figured he would? He got a great amount of boos?
If so then shit, Saudi's going through some major shit right now and if even they don't believe this company's bullshit I find that hilarious.

Based on the highlights, it looked like a house show on steroids. I do feel it necessary to call out the "anti-Iran" segment, which I found particularly disgusting. The official KSA narrative is that Iran is to blame for what's going on in Yemen right now, and to drag the Daivaris out there to play up to that narrative at a wrestling show is pretty classless in my opinion.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. I wasn't sure how well a random wrestling show on a Friday morning/afternoon would work, but it was fun. And the damn botches cracked me up so much. Didn't see the ppv yet but I hear Roman didn't get unanimous cheers like the company figured he would? He got a great amount of boos? If so then shit, Saudi's going through some major shit right now and if even they don't believe this company's bullshit I find that hilarious. Yeah Brock got a much louder response than Roman did. I even believed Vince had a good idea at first because the crowd was pretty pro-Cena, but nope! That didn't translate over to Roman much at all, haha.

The crowd made it feel like an early 90s WWF event. Popping for the big faces and booing the heels. The crowd made me enjoy the show more!

My wife and I felt the same way and we both grew up spoiled by wwf/wwe culture in our family...This was make or break and this quasi house show blew it out of the park

He got a pop not a massive by any means when his music first started. Than it was kind of nobody cared. The did his howl with him when he sets up for the spear. Other than that it was more quiet on him. No massive pop but no really boos either.

Crowd was great about from the guys in the front row with their Backs to the ring all night What on earth was all that about? Like, if you're not all that enthused to be there, fine. But what the hell was so interesting behind them that they had their backs to the ring so much??!

American pro wrestling has DEEP roots in the "evil foreigner" trope that runs rampant to this day, so it's not like that's a uniquely terrible thing the Saudis came up with.

How is that any different to when in the old days whatever country were the "big bad" in the American narrative were the heels in wrestling? The show relied on old school wrestling tactics a fair bit. Some of what you said is close to the line on the forums no politics rules so I won't gi in to it but trust me when I say I have a very negative view on the KSA and their shenanigans but saying that if there's heat against Iranians in Saudi right now then the WWE playing up to it is no different than what they've done in the past with The Iron Sheik, Muhammad Hassan and countless wrestlers in the 80s. Hell wasn't Rusevs gimmick that of a Putin sympathiser at one point fairly recently? The goal of wrestling is to get people to boo or cheer whatever way you can, it wasn't the WWE making any statement or anything it was just them going for the easy heat to give the local trainees in the ring an easy rub.

It’s wrestling, and this is one of the standard tactics in wrestling to get a response, it’s no different to any other “country vs country” promo that’s been done a million times before. And they got the loudest reaction of the night. Some things just work in wrestling.
