Does Hogan genuinely want to redeem himself or is it because he wants to be back on TV with a paycheque 🤷♂️

yeah I can't belabour this point enough; we need to stop dancing around the "Is Hogan Racist" question when he flat out said "I'm a racist. Stupid N-words". and yeah while he did think nobody was watching, that's kind of irrelevant. what matters isn't that he thought he was in private, what matters is that it's out there now whether he likes it or not, and that would be the same for anyone. people are going to have a reaction to what Hogan's hurtful words said, whether he likes it or not. it's kinda like (and again, not saying what they did is at all comparable) "well Harvey Weinstein didn't WANT people to know he's a rapist, so we can't judge him on information that leaked out anyways". that's not how society works. Exactly. People do a lot of things in private that, once public knowledge, cannot be put back in the closet. In private, Bill Cosby liked to drug women and rape them. In private, Chris Brown liked to beat up Rihanna. In private, Ian Watkins liked to pleasure himself to videos of young children and infants being sexually abused. In private, Hulk Hogan admitted to hating black people purely for being black. Their severity of their offences are up and down the chart, but the one fact tying them all together is that they each did things that they didn't want their peers or the public to find out about, and took great pains to keep hidden. That each of them failed to do so, for whatever reason, doesn't excuse them of their actions. Of course, Hogan is entitled to redeem himself in ways that Cosby and Watkins never can, but his attempts thus far have been far from convincing. Perhaps he's simply lived in the bubble created by his own ego for too long to possess the self-awareness to do what is necessary, or perhaps he simply cannot hold his prejudice fully in check now that the mask has slipped. Either way, he's going to have to work damn hard to find any redemption. Everyone's pretty much hit the nail on the head, but I'd just like to add one more thing: Donald Sterling was also recorded without his knowledge saying racist shit. Donald Sterling received a LIFETIME ban from the NBA. Not only is "he didn't approve of being taped" not an excuse, the fact that we're even discussing the possibility of a comeback for the Hulkster is pretty damn generous.

Here's my take, even if he's a self proclaimed racist, I don't see him doing things to hurt anyone except saying he doesn't want some particular people to date his daughter.
Would the argument be the same if he said Muslims? Christians? Atheists? Short people(not midgets)? excessively tall people?
We all have preferences and we're entitled to them, it's not like I'm aware of the guy running around saying the N word in public or being interviewed and refusing black reporters to question him, etc. Maybe the guy just wants to continue his heritage. Correct me if I am wrong, but other cultures do things similar. For some reason, I am thinking certain Asian cultures and maybe Indians(from India)? Not 100% sure, but pretty certain.

I have never personally said something racist in private conversation. If YOU have, I'd appreciate if you could tell me so that I could save us both time and block you.

Here's the thing about it to me: If the pro-Hogan people would just be honest and say "Yes, Hulk Hogan said some racist shit, but I don't care, I want him back because he's a big part of my childhood, regardless", or whatever, at least that shit would be HONEST. Instead of trying to couch in in "Well, he should come back because, I mean, well, has he ever really been PROVEN to be a racist beyond those things he absolutely said?" Like, if you don't care that what he said yes, could be hurtful to the people it's meant to be hurtful to, that's on you, at least you'd be on front street.

The deflection of the racism is the weirdest part. I can get how hard it is to admit that a childhood hero is a scumbag. Hell, I have to deal with the fact that people I have respected in the past from my teenage or adulthood years have been sexual harassers, sexual abusers, pedophiles, and even murderers. I get that.
Or maybe Hulk's deflectors don't want to admit their own subconscious(?) racism.

It's his daughter. It wouldn't be his call, regardless of if you thought his argument had merit, and even if it were, she'd just be dating. Like, the argument you are going for, whether you get it's heinous or not, is appalling. This isn't "How do I get the chicken, the bag of seed, and the fox across the pond when I can only take one at a time?" logic puzzles to throw out devil's advocate shit about, this is eugenics.

By page 20 someone's going to bring up "the white genocide" and WWE Current itself will get locked.

seeing as this thread is going in circles and it's not been confirmed if Hogan is in talks to go back to wwe or not, and it seems its the same few posters siding with Hogan going back to wwe, and the same posters explaining why he shouldn't.
threads done, hoping next Hogan thread wont go the same way.
