The main event SHOULD be what most fans pay to see, not where they leave to beat traffic. You never saw anyone walk out when Flair, Austin, Rock etc.......were main eventing

That's VKM for you. He never sells anything. That time Nailz kicked his ass in the locker room? Vince didn't sold it.
Nash also put it the best, "Vince would rather make less money just to see his guy on top."

Whether it's the time or Roman, the idea that they're just not going to do anything about it and keep going on is f***ing terrible. I don't know how some people can keep defending the idea WWE cares about putting on a good show when a notable amount of people walk off and Vince goes "Eh f*** it if people have to leave they have to leave". This product is for Vince and to keep Vince making money, and even if the money starts to dry up he's not changing shit. This is the New Generation 2.0

Only thing that even remotely surprises me about that is the fact that he didn’t blame Samoa Joe

Well then, I guess the fans will have to send and even stronger message. How will Vince explain away a load of fans leaving as soon as Reigns' music hits, for his tenth PPV main event match of the year?
More delusional denial of reality, I suppose.

honestly, though while it doesn't make for a good look on TV if Vince already has these people's money then why should he care? if you REALLY want to make a change then don't give him money in the first place.

The Roman thing isn't an experiment its about four years in. His run at or near the top is longer than Austin's was. And they're going to keep doing it. It's not going away.

Regardless for how late it was. If the crowd was invested in the main event they would have stayed. They weren't so they started filing out. I mean I guess blaming the time is better than blaming Samoa Joe for it but... yeah. Agreed. I mean, there was still a good amount of people around at the end of WrestleMania, and there had to have been even more goddamn traffic impact for that. You didn't see people leaving in droves after Brock got the win, did you? And if you are blaming the people leaving because of traffic...what does that say about your Top Dog when he can't even hold people there for 10 minutes?! You know who leaves an event to beat the traffic? Mets fans when they're down by 5 in the 9th. Cleveland Browns fans when they're down by 20. If you have someone who's good enough, the fans will stay a bit to see him, whether they're gonna cheer him or boo him.

TBH I thought Vince was going to put all of the blame on Joe.

I love that the title of the thread is as much about Vince's reaction to the people walking out of Backlash (deflection) as it is Vince's reaction to the backlash against his chosen guy (denial).
As long as people keep buying tickets, he's gonna push whoever he wants to push. Vince doesn't care about boos and early departures, but he'll care when ratings and ticket sales start dropping.

He has a point. If it was Roman, why wouldn't the crowd have left before the match started?

Now I would really like to hear his reaction to Roman getting booed out of London against JINDER MAHAL of all people-- Jinder got cheers for his 1 minute of offense backstage even. Clear sign that he has failed as a top babyface.
Of course, I'm guessing he said something about 'Bizarro Land' UK fans

If he likes you no reaction is bad enough, and if he doesn't no reaction is good enough. Vince is an absolute cancer creatively and has been for so long. Delusional idiot. Go away.

honestly, though while it doesn't make for a good look on TV if Vince already has these people's money then why should he care? if you REALLY want to make a change then don't give him money in the first place. This is what I've been saying for the longest time. I've seen people here make threads about the Raw and Smackdown shows, along with the PPV's, and the WWE Network subscription. The same people who said they would stop watching are still going on making threads for snarky remarks. Simply stop watching, stop making threads, and find another form of entertainment where they don't show obvious contempt for their audience. As long as Vince is still getting their money and ratings along he sees no need to change. Which is why we need a stronger form of legitimate wrestling competition with a strong financial backing the way WCW had to counteract the staleness of the WWE product.
