Now that we’ve established that last weeks video wasn’t some clever creative (ha, right) move to turn Lashley into a dangerous, smiling psychopath, instead making him look like the most boring guy in the world, it seems that fan apathy has already kicked in with Lashley.
Maybe we can pin it on the UK crowd being solidly behind Elias, but Lashley wasn’t getting major pops anyway.
So a pointless feud with Sami Zain is on the cards, but I can see Zain getting cheered more than Lashley here.
What went wrong here?

When people expected him coming in as a badass, but within a month, "Has Sisters" is his lone trait, of COURSE he's gonna get booed.

1 - Brought in as face, when he did his best work as a heel in TNA. 2 - As WWE doesn't want more than one wrestler using a finishing move, he can't use the Spear or the Running Powerslam, and has to use a Delayed Vertical Suplex. 3 - No mouthpiece. In TNA, MVP helped him get over as a heel. 4 - No direction until last night, was tagging with a dude that literally won the tag team titles by himself against a team that included a 4 time World Champion. 5 - Sloppy in-ring work, hasn't looked anywhere near as good as he was in TNA, nearly broke the neck of Big Ass by dropping him on his head.

He sucks. Just as bland and boring as he was when he left.

Lashley found his groove as a self confident ass kicking heel. Basically, he was Lesnar who actually sold for his opponents and made them look good.
So naturally, bring him in as whatever the hell they brought him in as.
Vince is so clueless it’s ridiculous.

Not that anyone was going to get cheered against Elias in the UK, though.

I never, ever bought that Lashley wasn't the same bland, boring guy he was in his first WWE run, even in his "critically acclaimed" TNA run(talk about an oxymoron) and I'm glad that viewpoint is being vindicated. The dude's as dull as beige paint.

Vince does not deviate from how he views a particular wrestler. Lashley was a real bright spot in the dire last few years of TNA. So of course WWE brings him back as the same vanilla face he was before that failed to set the world on fire. The MVP aspect was only the first few months he was in TNA anyway. Lashley became a pretty good heel promo in his own right.

WWE's fool-proof formula of taking an established, well working idea and saying "f*** that!!!".

It sucks for Lashley that he is being punished with such silly booking, same with the Revival.
However, you'd think the crowd would respect Lashley for being athletic and going out there to put on a great show. I think it has a lot to do with a vocal portion of the audience not like "Vince's type."
Lashley is the perfect combination of what Vince would like and having the skill and ability to put on classics. The bad booking does hurt him, but I truly believe that not having an indy feel to him is going to cause resentment from some segments.

He's been in WWE for a little more than a month and he's somehow as bland as Bobby Roode already. Impressive.
I hope to god this stuff with his family is leading to him snapping.

He should have gone to Smackdown.
He should not be the partner with Strowman who has established himself as a loveable monster who doesn't need a partner, let alone Lashely doing the Ricky Morton role,in the tag team.
He should be in the upper mid card on Smackdown as they clean up AJ/Nakamura's feud.
He should not be smiling like a dolt unless he is to become more of a psychotic character who sees nothing but red when he is in the ring.
He should not be booked the way he is now
He should be booked the way he was, before he got there. Even with following the same trajectory that made him get comfortable on TNA.

Could have built the guy up to be a decent threat to Lesnar.
I guess they don't have enough ice-cold JAGs in the midcard.

Sign a guy, give him a terrible theme, no storyline, no direction - how could it go wrong?
These fans are just TOO picky these days, I tell ya.

Yet another guy the WWE signed just because it could, with no thought to how they'd use him. Dude is just as boring as he was last time around.
