Probably in the minority here but watching a few random old videos and a few moments of Billy & Chucks reign as Tag Team Champions came on.
Obviously it's the wedding that Bischoff pulled off a massive swerve and introduced 3 minute warning that's remembered the most but I thought that the 2 were a really good team and don't get the recognition they deserve, real shame that there wasn't much opposition in the tag division at the time.
Anyone else a fan of the two? Please share your opinions and memories on the two here ..

The definitive end of any of Billy Gunn’s aspirations to get to anywhere near the top of the card.
As if Billy Bitchcakes wasn’t bad enough.

Great theme and killer headbands.

I thought they were a really good team to be honest. I think the gimmick worked as neither had the best charisma so they needed something over the top.

as a kid I didn't get it, but as an adult looking back on things they were a lot of fun. The wedding segment was awesome, especially because of Bischoff, but absolutely nothing about the Billy & Chuck vs. 3 Minute Warning match at Unforgiven made any sense though, lol.
Oh yeah, their tag title match with Edge & Hogan on the 4th of July (?) episode of SD was fantastic.

I wonder what they were thinking at the time when the media caught on to their story-weren't they on the Today show and getting press and got a wedding present?

Solid team, amazing theme, and it's a shame they pussed out on the wedding, because it was actually getting them good publicity.

I loved that team.
Very good together and they looked good to me too.
Wished WWE had gone through with the wedding as there was more that could be done.
I really miss gimmicks like that.

I wonder what they were thinking at the time when the media caught on to their story-weren't they on the Today show and getting press and got a wedding present? Yup. They were hitting mainstream shows promoting what would end up being a sham gay wedding. Back then, the rest of the world just rolled their eyes and shrugged with no backlash really at all. Wrasslin' being wrasslin'. Had it been these days, though.......oh boy, WWE HQ in Stamford would be a charred cinder by now.

I dunno, granted I haven’t watched it in years, but I don’t remember anything too offensive about the reveal that they weren’t actually gay. It was just “we did this for attention, and to help our floundering careers and got in way over our heads. We meant no disrespect to anybody”. Some of the other parts of the gimmick were blatantly playing off of homophobia, but I don’t remember the reveal being offensive. I think you could probably do it now However, I do understand why GLAAD was upset as WWE had promised them it wasn’t a hoax and they were actually gonna go through with them as a gay couple tag team to get their endorsement.

They were funny as hell. Ambiguous Bily Gunn truely reinvented himself after that horrible "The One" gimmick.

One of fhe funnest things about that timeframe for me hands down. Loved the team, loved the gimmick, loved the headbands. The EPIC Bisch thing. Good quality zaniness.

The early ambiguous clips were pretty funny. It got kinda lame as they went more on the nose though.

God, Jim Ross hated Chuck Palumbo. Such disdain in his voice when he'd say Chucky.

When I think of Billy and Chuck, I think of WWE Crush Hour.

When it wasn't essentially a 'lol gays' gimmick I actually quite liked it. Palumbo was a latter-day WCW guy so I kinda marked for him and Gunn is always better in a tag team, but at the same time, you know, using my people as a f***ing punchline way too recently.
