I remember reading about him in PWI in 94-95. What did you think when you first saw him?

I remember that I had heard of him prior, so I was curious what he'd be like. On that front, he didn't really disappoint, he was pretty unique for his time, just as his uncle had been.
Now, was he ever like a huge favorite of mine? Nah, but he was interesting.

I'd seen flips and dives and hardcore on different tapes of random stuff from Japan I'd pick up, but never the insane, intense combination Sabu had. It was mesmerising.
Should be a millionaire but he doesn't play well with others.

I first saw Sabu in the old Apter mags and I had to see this guy. The first time that I did he blew my mind. People that weren’t around when he was at his peak can’t really comprehend how amazing that he was. It was like he came from another planet. Unreal talent.

First I've heard of him was the mags also; had that barbed wire fire rope death match where the ring burned up like 2 minutes into it.
Then when the ECW videos started getting advertised, I had to break down and get one. Was Heat Wave 94: Battle For The Future, Sabu vs. Shane Douglas.

My reaction when I first saw him...……"Men from Bombay, India do not wear Arab headdress. Why is he wearing one?".

My reaction when I first saw him...……"Men from Bombay, India do not wear Arab headdress. Why is he wearing one?". Maybe because he was from Bombay, Michigan?

First saw him in WCW and was absolutely mesmerized by him, I wanted him and Savage to feud.

I was impressed with the scars on his body. Definitely looked like a guy who lived the hardcore ideals. But overall other than the crazy hardcore spots he was small, didn't have much power in the ring. But it was hard to not be impressed with his work ethic and he definitely played the part of a dangerous madman well.

I thought he was insane (Which he really was but still). I first saw him was in the magazines because being in the Midwest ECW wasn't easy to see it back in the day before tape trading and the internet wasn't what it is today. So really my first time seeing him was Halloween Havoc 95 when I rented it as I wasn't watching WCW weekly that much in the first year of Nitro until 96. After that the next time I saw him was when he dived off the Raw at Raw when ECW first showed up in the WWF and Than there was that match with Flash Funk on Raw a while later. As ECW got on PPV and the internet evolved, I saw more of his stuff and was impressed how tough he was and what he could do. Much like RVD in ECW with how cool the moves he did where. Sabu had a lot of that too.

I remember seeing Taz first in IWCCW, we had a Florida Sports Network station on our sat dish that'd show like 4 hours of indy wrestling every week. I do remember knowing who Sabu was, so we might've had the ECW/NWA before ECW. But my first memory of actual ECW was seeing Bubba Ray Dudley.

Honestly, the first time I remember seeing Sabu was on Raw... was it his match against Scorpio or the Taz match where Sabu showed up and jumped off the Raw sign that happened first?

Was absolutely amazed. His wrestling style combined with his character was unlike anything i had ever seen.
Went out with a buddy of mine looking for tapes just to watch more of him.

I thought aloud “That man is sucidial and maybe even homicidal but he is not genocidal...Stop lying Paul Heyman and Joseph Styles that is an incorrect boast!”

I first saw him on ECW on TNN. My friend Will went nuts when he first came on because he knew who he was. Even though it was a watered down version of Sabu I was still amazed because no one on WWF or WCW was wrestling like that. It wasn't until later that I got videos of the prime Sabu.
He's not the best wrestler and what he did then is tame compared to what is done now but wrestling wouldn't be the way it is now without Sabu.

I remember reading about him in PWI in 94-95. What did you think when you first saw him? 95 I think is when I first saw him. Got a "Best of Sabu Volume 1" VHS off some tape trader. Thought he was entertaining. But figured after maybe 5 years he would be too injured to wrestle. Seems I was off by about 15 years.

I was a kid when I saw him and loved that stuff. I kind of now think he was a novelty ECW act. Not a knock on him, but he was a unique act.
