I see this question asked and then I happen to see that the Raw thread was 73 pages. If it's truly an embarrassing time to be a wrestling fan, along with the stale product, what's the point in watching then? Again stop giving Vince your time, money, and intelligence when it can actually be focused on better and more coherent forms of entertainment. If I don't like a movie, video game, book, or show I simply don't buy it and refuse to give it any of my time.
When will people learn to stop enabling Vince's booking for himself and start saving their money and time?

I lived through an era where a grown-up man discovers his pirate heritage and stole Bret's jacket, just because! But grown-up man Bret was angry because his mom stitched it for him. Then they fought! In retrospect, Jean Pierre should have said,"Martha" during the match with Bret Hart stopping the assault and saying, "WHY DID YOU SAY THAT NAME?!?" and became friends. YOU LEAVE JEAN-PIERRE LAFITTE OUT OF THIS!

Yeah it can't be understated how bad 2009 was. Had to be the worst year of any wrestling company I've ever seen and that's including wacky TNA and WCW. They were at least funny-bad, WWE 2009 was hard to watch. Sad news is I did it anyways.

Nah, but I've accepted that the product won't be changing very much for a long time because why would they change it?

RAW and SmackDown aren't as bad as they are boring and pointless.
There is no appointment viewing almost everything they put on TV is a recycled version of something we've already seen. Everybody has wrestled everybody else a hundred times and people just move up and down the card for no reason.
If I miss Raw this week or next next what am I going to miss?

The absolute worst period was right after WWF became WWE and the boom officially ended. You had the Triple H reign of terror, Triple H's racist promot on Booker T (and he won that feud), Kane raping and impregnating Lita, Katie Vick, the original Diva Search, and just so much bad stuff. The only saving grace during that period was Wrestlemania XX where Eddie Guerrero and Chris Benoit celebrated being on top of the WWE with the two world championships, and even that's tainted for obvious reasons. And Smackdown was generally pretty good thanks to the Smackdown Six.

I was actually embarrassed of RAW in 2009 and wouldn't dare watch it in front of others. I never watched WWE during the Attitude Era since my family was more interested in WCW, but I honestly don't understand how what we see now is any less embarrassing than some of the crap that would happen, seemingly on a weekly basis.
WWE is fine now. At worst, it is really bland, but it's decent for the most part.
We all knew what to expect from that Lashley segment. Boggles my mind that people are thrown off by that kinda stuff when its signature WWE.

There's an argument to be made, that it is the most frustrating time to be a fan.
So much wasted potential and talent...

So I just went and looked at my 2009 ppv dvds... what was so horrible about that year? Seems bandwagoning to be honest.
Edge/Jeff over whc which lead to Punk/jeff over whc with punk channeling his roh S.E heel routine.
Randy/Cena in the only time their rivalry produced fun matches including one of the best iron man matches imo. Flies by and you see Randy try to kill cena with pyro.
Wm25 was solid.
JeriShow
DX was actually tolerable for the brief time they were back, unlike 2006.
Only standout negative was Taker bitching out Punk over dress code and ending the reign prematurely.
I see people mentioning the guest hosts and admittedly there were duds, but overall 2009 at least had angles and characters with personalities instead of "i am a good wrestler" x entire roster or the rampant, bad form of 4th wall breaking we have now.
In all honesty once I looked at dvd covers entire year came back to me, when i look at 2014 and ^ its all a blur of mediocrity where I don't remember ppv outcomes.

I'd say the last few years have become maybe the most boring time; I've gotten to where I legitimately don't care, and maybe will check out a show every few months.
