To be honest, this is going to be a "must skip" for me, and while that was obvious from the get-go when I decided to examine Wikipedia to see what on Earth this series is about, skimming the series wiki to go into a bit more about the lore and what happens (because I'm lazy), I'm just appalled at how f***ed up everything is (I assume it's meant to be designed this way to disturb the viewer intentionally, but still... I have mentioned hypersensitivity). I'm not going to condemn anyone into this, but good God almighty, I'm not looking forward to seeing angsty teens and other unsavory folk swarming all over this on social media after my run-ins with the Attack on Titan fanbase years ago.

If you don't get the show or just don't like the premise that's cool but I do think you are missing out imo. It's a good psychological show that hits a lot of good notes. The bare bones of it is kids learning the truth of the world and learning to survive it

Just watched the first episode on Adult Swim and it's enough that I think I'm gonna need to go heavy on this show on VRV tomorrow. Instantly hooked.

1st episode is one of the better examples of a show hooking you in

Just finally got around to watching the whole thing (been just watching the dub as it's been coming out while kind of meaning to finish via the sub and just not doing it). Once I hit episode 8 I knew I had to finish it tonight.
Damn this show rules. Can't wait for season two.

Keep spreading the word, i've been trying to get y'all on this for a while Based upon the Manga, if I had to project forward we are looking at least 4 seasons assuming they stick to the 12 episode format

For those that still haven't watched, what the hell you waiting for lol
In regards of the full story, the manga is in the "final phase" so there's no way this story will not be finished in the anime

Been watching it on Toonami. It's creepy as hell, and really good.

I haven't seen the show, but I'm glad people are enjoying it. I do own every volume of the manga plus the two books they put out after reading it on a whim and really getting into it. I think most shonen manga blows but this one is different which is exactly why I think it's caught on like it has. My only complaint is that they need to push my boy Phil! The man ranks top 5 in all the character polls out here and that's despite barely getting any screentime.

It expands on little scenes in the Manga and just makes them even better with their direction as far as making the shot wider or expanding on it. With how close the Manga is to "ending" or I should say it is in its final arc, Phil is someone I def wouldn't have minded if they gave sometime in the orphanage too Manga Spoiler {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} To my recollection we've never gotten a full chapter dedicated to him at the orphanage right? It is just in and out with the new mom

The story hasn't really made any missteps so far and I get the impression they know what they're doing, so I have to imagine we'll be back with him sooner rather than later since this is the final arc.

Finally catching up on the Manga after 4-5 weeks {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Ray and Emma are finally closer to meeting the Demon with a weird name. Essentially Demon God is what I will refer to him as for now. They travel past the door and must transcend space and time in the room. They finally reach a black sphere in which Emma is able to reach the "Demon God" but Ray is sent back to the orphanage. Emma talks to him about reforging the promise between Humans and "Demons"
On the Norman side, he is marching to where the demons are to wipe them out. He sends Gilda and Don to find the two demons that helped the group before. They suspect he sent Hayato and Zazie to spy on them and make sure they kill the demons but actually Zazie hates Norman group for killing her adopted father who was a demon. Norman did send a large group to find and kill the demons. Hayato is acting as a spy for when they find Musica and Sung Joo. They finally find them and Hayato sets up the ambush but the tables is turned when Sung-Joo shows that he can't be cornered easily and ask "who is hunting who"
We jump back 1000 years to the original promise. A solider named Julius betrays his comrades who were fighting in arms with him against the demons. He got to the breaking point and sacrificed his friends to the demons when they did not agree with his plan. The Demon King and Julius went to the Demon God and he granted them their agreement if they agree to his wishes. Julius and his family must be the gatekeepers of this promise for as long as it shall last and the Demon King will build farms and provide him with the best meat.
We jump back to Emma in which she wishes for every cattle child to be sent to the human world and the movement between demon and human world to be closed which the Demon God agrees to. We do not know yet what he wants, only that it left Emma with a shocked face and by rule you can't deny the Demon God what he wishes for.

New Chapter {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} Sung Joo was able to stop Norman's assassins from killing Musica. The assassins are captured and Musica is recruited to go to the capital to stop Norman
We see Emma is also back and talking to Ray to confirm the promise was forged but when asked what she agreed upon she tells Ray now isn't the time to ask. She is told of Norman play to kill all "demons" and they set off to the capital
The final stretch of the arc is now in play with Norman group, Musica group, and Emma group all on a collision course to the demon capital

Caught up after a month as the manga continues to hit towards its conclusion {Spoiler}{SPOILER: CLICK TO SHOW} As said before Emma ha forged a new promise but we do not know what she promised "god" yet. Norman is talking to his crusaders and we see them all celebrating before the attack. Norman leaves for a second and falls to the ground coughing with blood on his hand so it seems like he is dying and doing all this before his time is up
He begins the attack on the capital and takes over almost immediatly. He lets the group of demons he brought with him go attack the queen and the court. We get a little backstory about how one of the demons was royalty and was betrayed by a house under him and casted out. He has a bit of revenge and takes out the person who betrayed and the people protecting the queen. However, the Queen decimates him with no problem and she understands he did not come up with the plan so he must be working with someone
Emma and her group are in the capital when the attack starts.. With the Demon group gone, Norman group begins there attack on the Queen. They release a poison in the air which weakens the demons and the Queen and they go in for the attack which is where the chapter ends
