CR7 the MVP of the game, straight up carried his whole team.

Football, bloody hell.
Ronaldo is going to keep doing this into his 50s through sheer force of will and stupid amounts of talent.

Thought the penalty and free-kick decisions were soft and De Gea looks half the player for Spain that he does for United.
The free-kick makes you wonder why he does that stupid long run-up and blasts it into the wall or over the bar when he can just do a conventional run-up and place it in the top corner.
As for Spain, Costa seems to finally fit into the side properly and offer them that physical presence and a different option but with Isco and Silva out wide, they lack some width and directness going forward.

France: Lloris, Pavard, Varane, Umtiti, Hernandez, Pogba, Tolisso, Kante, Greizmann, Mbappe, O Dembele
Australia: Ryan, Milligan, Behich, Risdon, Sainsbury, Mooy, Jedinak, Rogic, Leckie, Kruse, Nabbout
That French line up!

Well then, once again into the breach for the Socceroos.

I love that Ronaldo just flat out refuses to not be centre of attention. The game should have been all about Spain and their recent dramas but no, not when Ronaldo is on the field!
France very pedestrian so far. Backed Mooy to be top Aussie goalscorer (Greizemann for France) and hes looking dangerous with his set pieces.

0-0 at half time. France have had the better running, but the Australian defence have kept strong.

And now one for Australia, pending VAR.

Wow. what a decision. I don't think the ref should give that if he is not 100% sure, even after VAR. Don't think its a penalty personally.
Hell of a penalty by Griezmann though, thats how you take them!
Edit - Aussie penalty now, no doubt about that. What was Umtiti doing?! Goal!

Whilst Giroud coming on is extremely dangerous for Australia, replacing him for Griezmann is baffling. They should be up top together.

2-1. Well, thats goalline technology for you!! Harsh given how competitive Australia have been, but I can’t say that wasn’t the right call.

Yeah, its the technology we've all been crying out for all these years and here it is working! But yeah they've done good today. France have been average but today could have gone either way. 5 mins injury time so still could of course!!
