So far it feels like they kept the spirit of the first one.

NEW TRAILER, KIDS! {Spoiler} I lost it at Rex essentially being most of Chris Pratt’s other roles, including that rumor of him taking over as Indiana Jones.

So for today only, YouTube has the first LEGO Movie up to watch for free disguised as an ad, although if you can look it up, they have the unlisted video online.

Apparently, it's going to have an opening weekend take of about half of the first one. I guess the world just didn't need a second one of these.

Saw it yesterday, this was really cute and fun. Loved Tiffany Haddish’s petformance here.

It feels like they barely marketed this one. Just alla sudden: "oh yeah, that's out."

It was ok, there was nothing horrible about it...but, at the end of the day, meh. I didn't really care for it.
The returning supporting cast was already so big (Metal Beard, Princess Uni-Kitty, Benny the Space Man, Batman) that the new characters really seemed to bloat the thing. I liked the new characters just fine, but I think the movie should have cut out Batman and maybe Metal Beard to make room for them. My reasoning is this: Benny is classic Lego, he needs to stay. Princess Uni-Kitty is adorable and a unique Lego character, she should stay. Lucy and Emmett are the main characters, they should stay. Batman...*sigh*...to me, Batman was always kind of a "nudge nudge wink wink" kind of character. His arc ended in the first movie, and he was given his own Lego movie on top of that. He and the other DC heroes didn't need to be here at all. Metal Beard...meh, I guess he could have been developed more, but I don't find his character interesting at all. I guess you could make the same argument for him as I did with Benny...but really, he's not a classic pirate, he's more of a transformer with a pirate theme going on. The Banana and the Ice Cream didn't need as much time as they got (especially the banana guy). I just didn't think it was as funny or as good as the first one. Not a bad movie or anything...no politics being shoved down my throat, but nothing that good either.

Movie was cute. Nowhere near as good as first one and a bit rushed. But still a fun time

Really not surprised this isn't doing that well at the box office. Lego Batman heavily underperformed in its own right then Ninjago outright bombed, which'd seem to indicate there just isn't interest in seeing a full franchise of these, and the marketing for this has been... pretty much nonexistent for a kids' movie.

I really didn't like this one. Man. What a disappointment.
The emotional core of the movie just didn't work and came off way more hamfisted than I was hoping and the movie as a whole felt like it was longer than it actually was. By the time they go off to the glitter planet it was like 20 minutes in and I was already tired.

yeah.... I was falling asleep at the beginning. It picked up in the middle and the end was fine. The first one was much better for me. I didn't hate it, just wasn't all that great. It was ok.
