Just whenever you think WWE couldn't get anymore petty, they go and prove you wrong.

I think ROH (if possible) should grab the Manhattan Center, dress it up to look just like an old school Monday Night Raw, and then do a show that's infinitely better than Raw 25 or any other WWE show that's ever been run there.

I know it's fun to rip into McMahon for this but honestly, I'd do the same thing he did. And I think most of you would too. His company... his family business is rooted in MSG and has been for nearly a CENTURY. I don't blame him for being territorial and I don't blame WWE for being offended that MSG negotiated with other companies. It's not petty. It's competition. And you build relationships with companies to freeze out companies that are trying to gain market share. It's a pretty common sense approach if you're a business owner. It's not petty. It would be an amateur move if he allowed it to happen.

It would be an amateur move if he allowed it to happen. If he was being territorial, he would have booked the venue for something during WrestleMania Week. Even if it was just a placeholder booking that never went through, so no one else could even get a shot at it. Instead they react to someone else booking it and manage to muscle them out. Plus IIRC the reason we found out about this was that MSG commented that they were surprised WWE hadn't contacted them for a booking that week. And really, the venue is itself in competition with bldgs that the WWE did book; namely the Barclays Center. It's easy to call it a dick move because it basically IS a dick move. It's "just business" so that gives it a nice guise as looking professional I guess...

Bah. There's a reason why All In is in the bizarre Sears Centre Arena and not somewhere more iconic in the Chicago area, mainly because it would be a fairly sizable venue that WWE doesn't care about at all. I do wonder whether there will be all sorts of legal ramifications here though.

Vince won't be happy until every other promotion is dead, and then he'll wonder why he can't find good wrestlers anymore. Perhaps, but I think this is due to him being protective of MSG as his family’s home turf

Since WWE is pretty corporate, is it reasonable to assume Vinnie Mac didn't know about these bookings and then when he got wind of what was happening was like "what do you mean someone else is booking MSG, that's OUR VENUE" and then called MSG himself? Or had one of his cronies call them, and make a last minute deal?

It's "just business" so that gives it a nice guise as looking professional I guess... They're both competitive game moves. ROH and NJPW know that MSG is WWE's backyard and the optics would be incredible for them to book a MSG show during Wrestlemania. So that's essentially a shrewd move in and of itself. If Vince wants to retaliate, it's not petty. He's puffing his chest right back at them. If he wins, cool. If he loses, then he loses. But he didn't. And I'm not surprised.
