so does this mean that F4 are usable for the mcu phase following the infinity war? What other marvel characters does this leave outside of disney's hands? I think now the only characters Disney can't use full-stop are Spider-Man characters, Hulk, and Namor. They're doing just fine on deals with Spider-Man and Hulk though, so I can't imagine Namor being an issue.

Potentially but the key would be when this deal gets fully completed. Before all the Comcast stuff happened, it was set to officially be done for next Summer but that might push things further back to about Fall/Winter time 2019 so it doesn't stand to reason they can really plan for that stage when they don't have the IPs in their hands to do it (not to say they HAVEN'T been planning it secretly because probably, they just can't go "This is the movie we want to do Summer 2020" or whatever because they technically don't own anything yet). I mean, smart money is them introducing either the FF in Phase 5 and X-Men in Phase 6 or the other way around, nowhere sooner than that. And I guess the only characters Marvel don't have full movie rights to now are Spider-Man, Namor, Hulk and She-Hulk? Unless I'm forgetting someone.

We're in the end game now.
I suspect we'll see something after A4 or the Eternals movie.
And hey a F4 movie done well. That's a surprise.

I looked for that handy "Marvel character movie rights" visual guide, and noticed.......it's been updated. This is the old one: This is the new one: Fantastic Four's back in the Marvel section, which I apparently missed? With Namor is split between Marvel and Universal, it looks like She-Hulk and various parts of the Spider-verse (Venom, Black Cat and most villains) are outside Marvel's direct control.....but with Marvel having Spidey himself, I'd wager they could get most of those people back in the fold as time goes on....

Why is She-Hulk, of all characters, exclusive to Universal?

Why is She-Hulk, of all characters, exclusive to Universal? Either a part of the Hulk deal with Universal years ago, or something slightly separate...

I thought Fantastic Four's film rights were owned by Constantin Films, with Fox being a production/distribution partner.

Yea the FF stuff is not completely in Marvels hands with Constantin films either own distribution rights or the film rights I forget which one.
Marvel can use Namor and Hulk they just are not allowed to have their own solo movies...idk what is up with She Hulk guess Marvel sold her film rights completely maybe to get to use Hulk.
But HOORAY the x-men are back home...now Disney don't take it from me just let the X-force movie get made and released just let me have that since I doubt house of mouse will ever make an x-force movie themselves.

Disney isnt getting Fox News in this deal. I think the only TV-related franchises Disney gets here are the Fox animated shows (Simpsons, Family Guy, Bobs Burgers).

Oh boy....now the first two would translate well to Disney and hey, maybe the Mouse can resuscitate the Simpsons' reputation...or trick us for awhile to think they're back and as good as before, like with Star Wars. But I am HIGHLY skeptical still about the MacFarlane Universe. Moreso with the cracking down Disney has done with inappropriate humor on social media lately. I know they swear there'll be no, say, PG Deadpool. But I have to see it to believe it. Plus I don't know if Seth would accept a Disney filter.

Disney produces plenty of R material, just not under the Disney banner.

I'm of the understanding they're getting most all of the live-action episodic properties that Fox TV produced and owns, including things like Jump Street and X-Files.

I wonder if a Disney byline will appear on the 20th Century Fox logo. They didnt do it with Marvel (heck, there's not even any mention of Disney in the credits of Marvel's comics), but there is a chance.

Disney-owned ABC aired Dont Trust the B in Apartment 23. They have no bias against "crude" humor.

Essentially it’s like this; The channels that Fox has are going to a new company in New Fox so Fox, Fox News and Fox Sports 1 and 2. The stuff those channels produce, everything from 21st Century Fox so TV and film, is going to Disney.
