Well I guess it isn't too early to start this up since been getting some news throughout the last few weeks. The big news if you didn't hear is Andrew Lincoln is leaving the show during this season. Don't know if he will be killed off or just written off for a while but they are negotiating with Norman Reedus on a new deal to make him the lead. Also add on the back and forth contract talks with Lauren Cohen and how she may not be around much longer
Shane is due to return for an episode this year. If I had to speculate if they are killing off Rick than he probably appears as a demon of Rick's past

Wonder how they kill off Rick?
Hope they don't waste his death on The Whisperers.
I'd prefer they go their own route and skip the Whisperers arc altogether.
Civil War maybe? That'd be something new. Maggie's faction vs Rick's.
Maybe have Rick slowly become more like Negan until one of his own side kill him?
I wouldn't have Daryl as 5he lead. His whole character now is that he basically has a crossbow. He's ok, but never struck me as a lead character.
I would say Morgan would be a great lead but he's gone. I think Maggie would be the next best option. Or Michonne, especially if they build to the Commonwealth storyline.

I absolutely hate the idea of Rick being killed off, but I guess if Andrew Lincoln wants out there isn't really a lot you can do.
I just hope it isn't anything lame like a Zombie bite or something like that.

I think ricks head on a pike during the mid-season finale would be cool. Bring Juanita Sanchez in as the new lead {Spoiler}this isn’t going to be good

Leaking Lincoln's departure was the most boneheaded thing any network or TV franchise has ever done. Imagine the impact of his unexpected death? It would be much bigger than that of Nick from FTWD...and that impact was HUGE .

I honestly think I'm out on this show going forward. It's been coming for a few seasons now

I think they wanted to avoid the backlash like they got with Carl and even that didn't get out because Chandler himself wrote a note to the guys who usually dish out the spoilers
This is the network getting in their own way because i'm pretty sure they would have given Lincoln the same respect
However, this just further highlights why they shouldn't have killed Carl even more so when the next coming story arc is him coming of age and that would of been perfect for him to have to become a man with Rick gone

I honestly think I'm out on this show going forward. It's been coming for a few seasons now The chaos is actually making me more interested. No Rick, possibly no Maggie, seeing how that all shakes out is way more interesting that the last couple of years of Rick sloooooooooooowly fighting back against Negan.

At the very least the status quo would be interrupted in a big way with Rick leaving or dying, Carl dead, and who knows what's going to happen with Maggie
I think it would give the show new life but I can see it turning people off

Only one person should replace Rick, and that's Clementine.

I heard Daryl may end up being the lead after Rick's departure, which I think would suck as he's not really a leading man, more of a right hand man,IMO.

Darryl’s a f***ing terrible, boring character. I’m trying to think of my favourite episodes and arcs of his and all I can think of involve characters that are long gone (Beth, Merrle...uhhhhhhhh; Carol)
This show is ending with a wimper

It's like they wanted to make that something but also wanted to keep it to a sense like their feelings are based upon caring for each other as only a family member could

Carol’s really overstayed her welcome too. The last good Darryl episode was that one with her in Season five when they were looking for Beth. The last good Carol one? I guess Season Six when the Wolves attacked Alexandria? I honestly have no idea. Carol has been relegated to background role which means it's probably time for her to go because she was at her best when she was the backbone of the group who would do anything to keep them alive. She's been this way for the last 2 seasons essentially
They won't kill her tho since she's basically the comic book version of Michonne per se. When you think about it her character has changed the most when you compare her to comic and TV show. In the comic she's a fragile woman who ends up committing suicide after Tyreese cheats on her but in the TV show she's the bad ass who gets shit done and doesn't apologize for making the "right decision" like when she killed Tyreese Girlfriend at the prison

She's just gone through her character arc too much. 1. Timid Housewife 2. Learn to be badass 3. Ruthless killer 4. Has she gone too far? 5. Pushed to kill to protect the group Repeat steps 3-5 a few times.

You can't really do anything else with her besides that and she's so hardcore you can't really see a scenario where she gets killed by a walker or even strangers. They would have to do something crazy like have her murdered straight up in cold blood in a defenseless situation. Makes you wonder if they could have gotten away killing Carol in the same situation like they did with Glenn and Abe
Either way she isn't going anywhere but they have no new story arc for her to get invested in.
Character death spoiler
{Spoiler} I think they keep Ezekiel around a while much longer than he was in the comic so that would rule out her taking over The Kingdom as well
