What shocks me with TWD is how many that watch and love the show, but they aren't horror fans. For example my 74 year old mother. She hates Gore and was never into horror. But she is a huge fan of TWD. Such a big fan that she recently borrowed the first TWD compendium.

While yes, this is a horror show and you no doubt get gore with people getting eaten, I think subconsciously people can accept that because it isn't there to just be there per se
Characters you have grown attached to die and in a sense you don't see them getting torn apart or killed, just feel a sadness because of the attachment
I think that may ultimately have been the difference in comic vs TV fans. In the comic Glenn death was very shocking but it was more so a what the hell happens next kind of thing in which you can't wait for the next chapter. In the TV show, the audience has never seen one of the people they care about killed some gruesomely and it turned a few people off

I'm glad TWD is gonna continue for the foreseeable future.
It's just one of those universe's which I love. The show, the comics, the games and the movies. The more the better.

What sucks is I had Glenn's death,in the comic, spoiled. I wasn't going to get to the comic shop until the weekend after that issue came out. And some jackass messaged me telling me what happened. For me TWD tv show has had one bad season. Which was season 2. Solo boring. What should have been 4 episodes tops was stretched out to a full season.

For me TWD tv show has had one bad season. Which was season 2. Solo boring. What should have been 4 episodes tops was stretched out to a full season. Yea Season 2 was bad and boring. I've found some of the recent seasons off and on, more so cause they've gone formula in big deaths only happening in the midseason finale or season finale but they haven't been as bad as Season 2 Season 2 though does have its moments with Dale dying and Sophia. Those were game changers because that showed this is not going to follow the comic but staying at the farm that long was just bad judgment. That's probably more so why I wish the show was closer to 10 episodes than the 16 or so they show because you'd cut a lot of filler out To bring up a different point you wonder how the show would have went if there was no Daryl. He has been Rick right hand man since Season 1 and essentially took the spot that was a revolving door for Tyrese and Abraham. Abe wasn't hurt as much in the TV show but Tyrese sort of was because they took some sting out of him and we obviously didn't get some of his key moments in the prison that made him a big presence.

I didn’t even think about this show until I saw this thread. I should probably take that as a cue.

f***, I don’t know if I can do this anymore What happened? Just utter garbage, capped with: {Spoiler}”Maggie...oh...yeah, she left”
Seriously, that’s basically how she was written out

i haven’t been a fan of the character for years but she deserved a better send-off than being sent to the Land of Contract Renegotiations

I didn’t care for how they wrote Maggie off. Otherwise it was an ok episode. Kind of slow moving but I expected that before the finale.

So Daryl had an X cut too. Wonder what happened.
Maggie's send off sucks. Unless she's gonna be... You know.

If we can let Rick go and the entire Grimes family (sans Judith though she is Shane's kid) they can let go of anyone I can see them giving more attention to Magna group in the TV show as they really stopped paying attention to them once they got introduced in the comic

So Daryl now has a Dog.... Ah man.. I'm going to be worried everytime it's around walkers now.. I don't want to see him being eaten Anyway annoyingly my recording missed the first bit. It was ok.. I'm still trying to get use to post Rick Grimes Walking Dead. Some fun action scenes against Zombies. They basically have given Aaron Ricks Comic book look and seem to be pushing his relationship with Jesus. Still not a fan of Carols long hair.. She looks very Lord of The Rings especially when she has the bow and arrow. I'm looking forward to seeing where they go with this Whisperer Saga... This isn't my favourite season I'll be honest but I'm still sticking around for now.

Just realized Judith didn't appear at all. I'm surprised, I thought she was gonna be the focus.

Really good episode. But feels like no matter what the show does the online fans will bitch and moan.
Last season I almost gave up on the show. This season has been really good. Keep hearing that Maggie will be back. Honestly I don't care if she comes back. Some how the writers have taken a character I didn't care about,Judith, and made me care about her.

The (two) significant time jumps and new characters have brought a nice bit of fresh air to this show, but the same old bullshit is still very apparent so I don't know how long this freshness will last.
It doesn't matter, I'm resigned to watching this show however long it lasts, whether it be another 2 or 8 or whatever seasons. I always try to like it, and try to be optimistic, and sometimes that pays off.
It's still a decent enough show but the walkers seem like such an afterthought. And really, they should. It's been 10 years since the apocalypse.

Yea, that's going to happen regardless You have to look at this show from your own perspective. Me personally, i'll keep up with the story but I won't watch every episode. I'll probably start getting back into the comic since that started to get stale but i've kept up with the story but haven't read every chapter This is one of those things where they might as well make the story their own as they are doing and based upon spoilers i've read i'm intrigued but it is still going to piss off people
