My problem is that it jumps from following the comic so closely then goes off somewhere else but then goes back to following the comic so closely. It’s like it can’t decide what it wants to be.

Pretty good finale. I’m glad the talking walkers were explaining reasonably. Awesome atmosphere to close out the episode. It was nice having some real suspense back in the show. I popped for the escape too. Good to see that character back in play. Lots of stuff to look forward to in February.

Bruh. It would be nice if they stopped killing everyone. They have a million background characters, if they really need. >_> In a sense I understand why they killed him off because you make the whispers a big f***ing deal off the bat
However, with all the other big time deaths and people leaving this death was either going to go over really well or poorly and considering his character I think it might go over bad

Yeah, Jesus really was wasted on the show. There were points when I couldn't even remember when his last scene was. The actor was apparently really unhappy with how his portrayed on the show. www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/walking-dead-tom-payne-exits-jesus-fate-explained-1163273 And now one of my fears comes true: Tara is going to be in charge of Hilltop. The mid-season finale was pretty boring except for the Whispers part, as to be expected. The final act was really cool and it did leave me wanting to see what happens next. I really would like to know why the groups all hate one another. And it looks like the season is going to end with the pike scene.

I understand that they need to keep the idea of "anyone can die, any time" but they killed him? Really? One of the few characters I felt could lead the show with Rick gone. Do they wanna make sure every likable character is gone from this show?

I don't quite get the cliffhanger. The direction Michonne & company came from must've been pretty free of walkers, right? So what's stopping them from just running back through the gate and away from the herd which is approaching them from the opposite direction?

Apart from Episode 7, Season 9 has been pretty solid so far.

Solid episode. The Whisperers are coming across better than they did in the comics.
I think hearing them whisper whilst the gang are encircled makes them come across as much more creepy. The arc in the comics I wasn't a huge fan of, but this is of to a really good start.
That final scene was awesome. Very tense, very creepy, very atmospheric.
I just wish it wasn't Jesus who was killed off. I get killing off a main character, but should have been someone we're all a bit sick of.
I really want Henry to get bit. He drags the show down. Such an annoyance. Magna is growing on me, and I like the deaf sister and her brother--they seem like they'll be cool characters.

I'm done with this show after last night. I looked past killing off Andrea and Carl. I was even willing to give the show a chance without Rick (and the first couple were good). But Jesus? f*** that. We're talking about a character that could have finally had a chance to shine, and who is an amazing character in the comic. Seeing him snuffed out now just pissed me off. This show is f***ing ridiculous. No Rick, no Carl, no Maggie, no Jesus. But don't worry, we've got Daryl and some version of Carol that never existed in the book. I'm half expecting them to kill Negan or Michonne next. I really want Henry to get bit. He drags the show down. Such an annoyance. Magna is growing on me, and I like the deaf sister and her brother--they seem like they'll be cool characters. I'm pretty sure they're a lesbian couple.

Yumiko and Magna are a couple

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Are they that afraid to kill someone like Daryl off? Simple answer is a BIG YES I'll never understand why they so afraid to pull the trigger on him. Most of your big characters are gone anyways and he's overstayed his welcome as a character anyways. Who cares if the fangirls stop watching? The show is on its last legs anyways.

Daryl has a dedicated following and they just won't kill him. They had a few chances to do so but never pulled the trigger. Starting from like Season 3 my belief was he was going to replace Glenn in getting killed by Negan which would have been just as shocking but they didn't pull that trigger
Hell, they could have had Daryl get taken out brutally like they just did Jesus but he's around for the long haul. What his character arc will be, who knows?
They're not killing him off unless Reedus says he's done

They had the same character in Dwight. Get rid of Daryl and you essentially lose nothing.

They had the same character in Dwight. Get rid of Daryl and you essentially lose nothing. Daryl is more established
Now, they could have killed Daryl and made Dwight his replacement but that was never going to happen
Essentially from a character standpoint Daryl has somewhat neutered others who had more prominent roles in the comic as Rick right hand men. Tyrese wasn't the same in the TV show, Abe while not hurt too much took on a lesser role, and Dwight and Daryl are the same character

AND IT JUST GOT GOOD!!! not only the whisperers are revealed ..... JESUUUUUUUUUUUUUUSSSSSSSSSSSSS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO ..... but that utter bastard negan BOOOOOOOOOOOO who bloody left the door??? was it you gabriel??? and where was the big guard too??? honestly i don't think they've ever done such an atmospheric episode like that one, and that long overhead shot was so gorgeous and get this, i am LIKING henry, he may be hot headed and runs face first into stuff, but he's learning ..... even half cut bloody teenagers eh can see an angle regarding ..... ADDY and him! but man that terror the group had at the end was classic TWD and great to see magna and yumiko in action for the greater good! and those 'in memorium' puns on TALKING BREAD are getting worse man

Alright solid season finale. - Really gutted they killed off Jesus.. Was hoping he would just be badly wounded or something like that but just looked online and seems to be confirmed dead.. Dammit. - Interesting to see now with Rick Grimes is gone certain characters are taking his traits... Aaron basically has his comic book look now and Gabriel seems to be playing the role with Negan now. - Speaking of Negan.. I enjoyed his roll in this episode, My one disappointment was him not saying "Hold the phone" when he opened the door. - Henry is annoying but I'm hopeful he will become a more tolerable character as time goes on. - The Whisperer design is great.. and It's good how you can't tell Whisperers from Regular Walkers. So yeah, All in all I am someone who has continued to enjoy the Walking Dead even when many others have given up on it or completely lost interest.. I do feel this half season has been up and down for me.. Bits I liked, others not so much.. I'm still not a fan of Rick Grimes no longer being in the show but I guess if Andrew Lincoln wants out then so be it. Dare I say it I probably wouldn't have mind it as much if Carl was still in the show. Either way, I'm looking forward to the 2nd half of the season and seeing where they go with this whole whisperer arc
