Tojo was WAY past his expiration date.
Still no clue who Gaddafi was or if he was the same guy as the Libyan in UWF. Really surprised his run is lasting this long, I only scantly recall his name.
The Lawler/Dutch/Dundee/Landel stuff was the only thing carrying the company at this time.

I don't know who it was, but from my understanding, Lawler was basically on vacation for months after losing a loser-leaves-town match, and someone (not sure who) did a quick stint as the Rider so that the heels could keep talking about Lawler by claiming it was him. For reasons I can't fathom, the Midnight Rider saw a revival in several promotions around this time. Bill Watts adopted the gimmick in Mid-South as well, Sam Houston would adopt it a few years later and for reasons unknown to me, the last person to adopt it was Ian Rotten of all people.

CWA - May 1986
Bill Dundee is pissed and wants revenge against Jerry Lawler. Paul Diamond begins his singles career in CWA. Jeff Jarrett reveals a tough timeline of when he’ll ask for a match against Dundee. JD Costello gets good news and has his sights on obtaining the services of one wrestler. However, the interaction doesn’t go according to plan. CWA TV 5/10/1986: wrestlingrecaps.com/territorie/cwa-tv-5-10-1986/The AWA International and AWA Southern Tag Team Championships are defended on the program. Speaking of which, there’s a new AWA Southern Heavyweight Champion. JD Costello tries to gain the services of another top star… and it again doesn’t go very well. Jerry Lawler takes on Abdul Gaddafi in a singles match. AWA Southern Tag Team Champions Mod Squad defend against Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka. AWA International Champion Billy Travis defends against Rip Rogers in the main event. Frank Morrell starts the show as a wrestler, and by the end his career goes in a different direction. Memphis Vice take on Paul Diamond and Pat Tanaka in tag team action. It leads to an intense segment on the show. The Fabulous Ones return to the CWA, as well!
