Looks like the other shoe has dropped, and AMC is starting up their own subscription service to counter Moviepass. It is called AMC Stubs A-List and it'll be launched on June 26th. TL;DR details: - It will cost $20 a month for the first year. (Three-Month commitment, after that you can cancel at any time.)
- You can see up to three movies a week; multiple showings in a single day. (they don't roll-over into the next week)
- You are able to reserve tickets in advance.
- Premium Showings (Dolby, 3D, Imax) are all included. Only restrictions are on Special Event showings (Fathom, Movie Marathons, Double Features, etc.)
- Offers the same benefits as Stubs Premiere (Line Bypass, point rewards, free upgrades at concession).
- You don't get reward points for each ticket, instead a flat 2000 points each month subscribed.
- For people who are already Premiere members, Premiere membership will pause if you upgrade, and resume to where you left off if/when you cancel A-List.
- You can cancel reservations. Any showing you no-show will count as one of your three movies for the week.

Now THIS I may sign up for. Distance is still an issue but I live in the middle of nowhere, so it always will be. I do know exactly where my nearest AMC is and I don't think it's leaving any time soon, so with being able to reserve a seat and not having to play it by ear, this seems awesome. The biggest thing I think that turned me off of MoviePass was seeing how many people had billing issues and their terrible customer service. I doubt that will be as big an issue with AMC.

I’ll stick with the 10 bucks a month Moviepass and my AMC Stubs Premiere membership..Unless AMC stops accepting Moviepass.

Just doesn't seem worth it. And I love movies.
Ima stick to going to the Edwards down my street and spending $6.75 on the few movies I bother to go to the theater for.

Well yeah, three movies a week, but concessions each time would still kill your wallet.

Moviepass still works better for me. My two closest theaters are Regal and they let you earn Regal club credits when you use Moviepass. At this point I can redeem points for concessions most of the time I go. It would be cool to buy tickets in advance, but Moviepass is better for me overall.

I mean, I love going to the movies, but not enough comes out for me to want to go in on this.

I meant to post a follow up. I ended up signing up for this and it's been working like a charm. The ability to see movies in the Dolby Atmos screens has just been awesome. Finally saw Avengers Infinity War back on Wednesday, and I saw both Jurassic World and Incredibles 2 today. Already got my Ant Man and Wasp ticket preordered as well.
What I will say though is for me it's a good deal because I like going out to the movies and in my town, AMC has the best theater. Only other options is a Regal that desperately needs renovations and a budget theater. There was more CMX dine-in that's opening later this year, but it's going to be way out of the way.
