And be honest As for myself, the last time I openly cried for a piece of media was when I saw this cutscene from Sonic Lost World. The story of the game was a mess, but this cutscene is like a diamond in a pile of coal.

I teared up at the end of Logan.
Video game?..shit. I dunno if ever, to be honest.
And book was probably the Diary of Anne Frank when I was in middle school.

Full on cry, no... but I did tear up when I saved Kara's whole group in Detroit. The only main character I cared even a little about.

I did everything in my power to hold back the tears at the end of Furious 7. I was successful, but I did feel some tears running down my eyes.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 moved me to tears in several scenes. I think the ones that got me the most were "He may've been your father boy but he wasn't your daddy".
"I am Groot." "What's that?!" "He said welcome to the frickin Guardians of the Galaxy! Only he didn't use frickin." "Bye Twig."
"You'll always be my sister"
As far as video games is concerned only three have moved me to tears.

Assuming the criteria for causing the tears is something I watched rather than experienced personally, then it's Rachel Maddow.
If the criteria is further narrowed down to a work of fiction, it's Quill and Ego playing ball in GOTGv2.

I cried when Asuka lost at Wrestlemania. I just got home from a beer fest and I was smashed and emotional.

Two books have nearly reduced me to tears - my eyes were certainly moist, anyway.
The first was 'The Corner' by David Simon, about the real life Baltimore drug trade. During the epilogue it reports the death of a main character who could have had it all if he'd not become addicted. There were also tears of joy at the story of a young girl who was a 13 year old mother but still went on to make a decent life for herself.
The second was a book called 'The Art of Racing in The Rain', which is about a dad's struggle with his in laws over custody of his daughter after his wife dies. However, it's all told from his dog's perspective. No spoilers, other than to say that the dog, Enzo, is quite old, and my own dog is now 13 and it just reminded me that he won't live forever. ☹️😥
Get the tissues ready if you read this book.

I'm halfway through that book at that moment. I love it, I love Simon's writing style, it's so easy to visualize his writing. Have you read his other book, Homicide?

Both Guardians movies and Infinity War. Damn you, Rocket Raccoon.
A number of recent Disney movies were gut punches. Moana, Big Hero 6, Zootopia and ESPECIALLY Coco. Holy crap.

I have, in fact I read that first which is how I came to hear about 'The Corner'. I'm with you about the visualisation, I've got images in my head of what the characters look like, the settings and scenarios. It's easy to forget that these are real people and real lives as the writing is so rich. On a slight fanboy note, the 13 year old girl I mentioned many years later has a cameo in an episide of 'The Wire'! She plays a school receptionist and has a line where she has introduces Prezbluski (sp?) to the school.

I'm an emotional person, don't hide that fact. So if the media that I'm enjoying at the time is hitting the right notes I'll definitely tear up.
Movie: Inifinty War, the end. Watched The Doctor in one of my classes and bawled, my dad died of cancer and that movie hit too many sore spots.
Games : A LOT. God of War, a few times towards the end, again being near Father's Day the interactions killed me. Life is Strange (and Before the Storm), the ending of both but especially once I knew what decision I'd have to make at the end of the first game.
