Wow, that's abrupt. Very eager though, love the first game.
Need to get around to playing Before the Storm already. I played episode 1 right when it came out and haven't touched it since.

Never played the first, but the free prequel being released looks cute as all heck, so I’m looking forward to that as a test if I’d like the full game.
That said, from what I know about the first, I’m expecting it to end really really sadly.

Just played through it and I'm not too sure how I feel... it's going to be tough to relate to a full game who's protagonist is an 8 year old kid.
Of course I felt the same thing about high school girls in the first one, and I fell in love with that game.
---
Okay, I read Captain Spirit is a standalone game. Which makes me happy. It was cute for a one-off, but I wouldn't have wanted a full game about him.

Thank you, PS4, for making this demo damn near impossible to find through your crappily designed search function.
Downloading now. Finally.

I'm kind of mixed. There is definitely stuff about it I enjoyed - a lot of the emotional beats do really land and I do really appreciate just how much there is to find and do in it - but I kind of feel like the demo's a little too meandering with side stuff and I'm kind of hoping Chris is just a side character in the main game rather than the lead.

Gonna give it a download. Not too thrilled the character is an 8 year old boy. That seems like it could be irritating.

I think when the full game comes out, there will be a time jump.
Ended up not completing the majority of the missions available. Only ones I managed were completing the costume and defeating “The Water Eater”.
I’m tempted to pre-order the full thing right now. Really am curious about the full game’s story.

Yeah, so if you finish the story too early, it's not too late to go back to continue on the main menu to finish everything before triggering the ending. As for the game itself, damn was that as emotional as these games get. Maybe it's the fact that I wasn't too much older when I went through a traumatic moment in my life similar to Chris. If I end up playing as this kid or a time jumped version in 2 I'll be all for it. Reminds me of myself at that age and helped me form a connection. Obviously they've upped the graphics and smaller things with the engine since the first Life is Strange and I have to say it looks wonderful. Music wise it still has a similar sound and music that fits the setting well. Can't wait for the full game.

I love the music in these games! Possibly my favorite little part, did anyone notice who was the author of Chris' mom's photo book? {Spoiler}{Spoiler} It was Mark Jefferson. I clapped with delight.

I'm between two minds to get this.
While I enjoyed the gameplay and overall narrative of the first game, the voice acting and 'oh gee, teenage drama' was really bad. Might be showing my age but it was a bit too 'Riverdale' for my liking.
That said, if I was to play it, for those who have played Before the Storm, do you think it needs to be played before LiS2?

Never played the first, but it’s like Final Fantasy, similar gameplay and I’m assuming themes, but you don’t need prior knowledge to follow this tale.

Choices made in this game will affect LiS 2, whether that be the costume choices, the "super" shit you did or whatever, or whatever innocuous stuff they can think off. Maybe the cigarette? I dunno. My guess is that other people start discovering {Spoiler}their power since, obviously, Chris manages to find his.

Before the Storm is a prequel to the first game, so you probably wouldn't need to play that to understand Capt. Spirit.

Huh, I didn't realize the release was THAT close. Guess I should both preorder and finally get around to finishing Before the Storm.
