No matter what pressure you management puts on Lakers the Spurs have no incentive to push a trade to get Kawhi there without getting a King's ransom which would defeat the purpose of getting a player like him imo If Spurs can acquire Ingram, Kuza, and 2 1st round picks i'm sure they be all over that but they have no need to deal with the Lakers if they really don't want to
If I'm the Spurs I am not helping the Lakers create another unbeatable super team out west unless it's a truly insane offer. Depending on the timeline, if George opts to stay in OKC the Lakers may throw in the kitchen sink to get Kawhi and then it'd be pretty tempting for the Spurs. LeBron isn't going there unless they have another elite player and if I'm the Lakers, I'm not rolling the dice on waiting till Kawhi is a free agent since that was the plan with George. The Lakers fired the last guy who panicked when he couldn’t sign any top free agents. I don’t see Magic making that same mistake, especially since they’re still feeling the after effects from that (Deng).

LeBron rumors everywhere
Recent report suggest he’s calling free agents to gauge their interest and see who would possibly join him in L.A
He’s also willing to let the Lakers roster “take shape” if he were to join there

Man Philly could've drafted Tatum and they could already be a super team. Colangelo killed the process.

What’s crazy is that you got other people saying he could stay in Cleveland which I think would be best for his legacy but they’d have to regain this whole team They have expiring contracts they can trade and make moves but nowhere near enough to get a championship much less getting past Boston with a healthy squad

George Hill, Earl Smith, and Tristan Kardashian. They are dead weight and you can't make serious moves with those contracts. If I'm a gm and Cleveland calls me offering those guys I think I legit would die laughing. As long as those three are still on the payroll Cleveland's hopes and dreams are deader than Bruiser Brody.

George Hill is really the only albatross. Tristian is an expiring contract and has value due to that and having a good playoff performance They can use the stretch provision on JR in September which would cost them like $4-5 million a year for the next few seasons

The Spurs have promoted assistant coach Becky Hammon to the front of the bench. One step closer before she gets a HC job Yeah no doubt she will be the first woman head coach in the NBA at some point as I thought she had a legit chance this year with the Pistons before Casey came along
Need Diana Turasi on somebody bench though if she wants to be a coach

I still say LeBron is a Laker this fall.
Anyway, on our front, the big issue is whether to keep or buy out Bojan. I'd keep him; $10 million may be a lot, but unlike a Timofey Mozgov, it's not as bad a deal for a player like him.

Bojan came on really strong at the end of the year, around the time Collison got injured. Shot the lights out from deep. No way I'd let him walk over 10 mil in today's NBA.

Don’t confuse Thompson personal life and basketball career. He has value in the league as a sixth man or fringe starter who brings energy and with his expiring contract that opens even more doors for teams looking to get cap for next year assuming

Under the radar but Adam Silver signed a new 5 year extension to stay the commissioner of the NBA. He now has a contract through 23/24
He's been doing a good job thus far and obviously anyone is better than David Stern

But I also love him for destroying that moron Jim Rome.

I really hope the Spurs don't cave to the Lakers. If LA really wants to make Kawhi's dream come true, I hope it cripples their future Brooklyn/Boston trade style.

I really think something like that is the only way the Spurs would do it. And like I said before if PG stays in Oklahoma and the Lakers get desperate it might be hard to say no to.

Sadly, unless they ask for draft picks in 2022,23,24 unprotected its useless. Getting anything back from LA for a guy who said he's going there anyway is a plus
