Imagine if D’Lo goes back to LA and gets a redemption arc.
I’ll projectile vomit all over everything.

AD!!!! YEAH! And room for another player. Another banner, I’m calling it! Nash was pushing forty and Dwight broke under the pressure, AD is in his prime. The west just got more interesting.

Probably the best part of the trade for LAL: no more LaVar Ball backseat coaching.

I think the Lakers got raked over the coals here. All they really got now is Lebron and AD, while counting on Kuzma to REALLY step up. Other than that, they got nothing. And Kyle Kuzma strikes me as one of those guys that otherwise no one would pay attention to if he wasn't on the Lakers.
Kuzma and Davis also play the same position unless Davis switches over to being primarily a Center.
LeBron really likes Kuzma and that’s probably the main reason why he was kept over an extra first. Kuzma is a fine player, but I don’t see him developing into a star. He’s serviceable, though.

Lakers got a perrenial all star in his prime for 2 never will be all star's with injury/health issues and a number 4 pick who even if they pick right probably won't come into his own until Lebron is on the decline in a few years. Heist of the century for the Lakers imo

Heist of the century for the Lakers imo Heist of the century is some major hyperbole As I said before, I think they will realize they made a mistake on Ball like they did D'Lo and Randle but he has to remain healthy. Besides that, I think AD is the weakest fit for LeBron since Bosh. Their games don't really mesh but I could be wrong. Pelicans got 3 first round picks on top of 2 high prospect players and a decent role player

He should be a really good sixth man for this team I think he would be too erratic to put in the starting line up with LBJ and Davis, fill out the rest of the starter roles with some vets and all that but Kuz as a force off the bench should be a problem

This the reality of any team that signs Lebron
If you aren’t in a win now mindset, f***ing trade him because otherwise, it’s a waste of money. You don’t have Lebron just to “compete.” You have a small championship window (2-3 years at best) to take advantage of having a a legit game changer on your roster. With all due respect, f*** the future. Gotta go for the gold now with this golden opportunity.
It’s real simple. If the Lakers continue to be below average, it was stupid. If LA brings home a title, the same people calling it dumb now will amazingly be nowhere to be seen.
The Kawhi trade showed that yes, it really is ok to think short-term if it will bring you to the promise land. A title in 10 seasons means way more than 2 conference title appearances and a bunch of mild playoff runs.

Woj says teams already inquiring about the 4. So the Pels may be doing some more flipping soon. Flip that for a young player or future picks if anything Pelicans have a good rebuild going with a 1 and 4 pick plus, Ball Ingram, and Hart who are all good young players with their flaws. Add in Holiday as well who has become a damn good guard

Yea, you don't have the luxury of worrying about 5 years after LeBron leaves, those years are f***ed. It's win and basically sacrifice your future 5 years after he retires sans recent Cavs with Sexton as they got a good pick thanks to the Kyrie trade. This is life with LeBron, you do everything possible to win a ring while he is there and if it works than great it was worth it but if it doesn't than you know you're not competing for a good long while Lakers are f***ed and got some bad times ahead after LeBron leaves BUT right now they had to make this move. People already were giving them buzz with GS not being the juggernaut for at least a year.

Lakers have to look at the warriors with what they do now.
The Warriors had mega stars...but as soon as the injuries started piling up you saw how little depth their was once they went down.
Lakers need to split that max capspace money they got and go for depth over another name(Unless that name is willing to take lesser money for a chance at a chip)....they need shooters,
bring back Rondo on the cheap and again go get someone like Jamal Crawford.

This is LA and Lebron....you know they want Lebron's buddies, which was why when he was a free agent, I was thankful Toronto was not an option for him. All that depth and all the team role players would be gone for guys Lebron just wants to play a pick up game with.

Not even Those picks don't have to be high end picks to mean anything. This is an asset you no longer have is the main point. Lakers can only replenish the squad through free agency and that can run thin. Teams like Warriors have been able to stay afloat for a while due to drafting well even at the bottom is what i'm saying The pick doesn't have to have a top 10 value to be good value. More so, Lakers are going to have to be smart in how they acquire players and who meshes well. Also add on veterans that may not mesh well

This was the first year Warriors did not have the depth needed and it cost them dearly. You're going to have to maximize your dollars to the most possible to complete this team. Try to get vets on a vet minimum that won't count against the hard cap and sell dudes on getting a ring.

The only thing I will say about AD in the negative (if you want to say its negative) is you dont really know how he we handle having expectations. Yeah he has had more success than either Kyrie or Love did when they got paired with LeBron but he is going to have a different role now. And for the first time he is really going to be scrutinized.
Plus again it will all depend on what pieces are around them. I dont care how good Lebron and AD end up being together, you cannot pair 2 players with a bunch of scrubs and expect to win.... and honestly even with a third potential max player and the Warriors injured the West isnt gonna be a cake walk

Dreaming of this going south for LA and turning into Brooklyn/Boston West Edition. OOF!!! They better hope Lebron and AD click because AD can't sign a contract for 6 months I believe and he keeps saying he will test FA. Shit can go real south in a hurry
