Harrison Barnes opts OUT of his 25 million dollar option. No one wants to ever be a King. Can’t wait until they throw maxes at everyone and everyone says no. Just don’t panic and overpay someone who isn’t worth it. I know he'll probably re-sign for a longer contract, but if he doesn't, do the Kings have a ton of cash to spend? They had a solid season. Adding a quality player could get them into the playoffs.

It’s just history isn’t kind with Sacramen to and free agents.

If they can get Barnes at a cheaper annual value but more years attached than so be it.
A sweet spot for me would be about $18 mill a year so basically a 4 year $72 mill dollar deal is good enough

Your worth isn’t what you think it is. I really really pray the Kings don’t pay this dude.

He would probably rather join a contender, but Horford as the mentor big for Giles and Bagley would be pretty sweet.

I think he fits a very good fit for the team Still very young but is a veteran as well due to his years with the Warriors and having that playoff experience. 3rd best player on the team behind Fox and Bagley but can still drop over 20 on any given night, plays defense and knows his role Already got stability at PG and PF and having it at SF locks down 2 of your starter spots for the next few years.

In the 1998/1999 season some over-30 savvy vet center decided to sign with the Sacramento Kings. That decision jumpstarted the one bright period in Sacramento-era history. Horford, lets do it all over again.

So out of nowhere the Knicks are showing a lot of interest in Darius Garland. Is it possible in a "3 player draft" the Knicks dont draft that third player?

They are only bringing him in for a work out Think it is them doing their due diligence but they are taking RJ. He wants to be there and he isn't working out for anyone else

Horford and Celts seem to be ending contract talks
Boston stands to lose him and Kyrie this offseason plus an important piece in a Marcus Morris
Crazy to think they brought in Gordon two years ago to be the finishing touch on a championship piece

Well not bite them per se as they still have assets BUT they are taking a step back in theory this season. However, I expect the team to properly perform close to what they did last year due to Stevens always getting more with less They still have Tatum and Brown but they have to decided on what they want to do. They could easily sign someone like a Jimmy Butler and trade for another star The best thing is, you can start shopping Heyward after next season due to being an expiring contract and then they have to decide on a contract for Brown but otherwise if they don't sign anyone this offseason, they could potentially move Heyward next offseason and have a bunch of cap for 3 max slots tho one you assume goes to Brown

With the Durant injury, Kawhi's unknown decision and the Celtics disbanding quickly, it'll be interesting to see how the East will look come October.
Somehow the Hornets will still not make the playoffs though.

Hard to believe 5 years after the Pierce/Garnett to Brooklyn deal that it’s the Nets that have the better present and future than the Celtics.

It's just so disheartening. This time last year the Celtics seemed to be on the verge of taking over the east. Since then everything that could go wrong went wrong. Now the future appears to be uncertain at best and bleak at worst.
They still have Tatum & Brown and I expect them to improve. But young kids don't win in the NBA. They're probably 1 or 2 years away from developing into what the Celtics hope they can be. But even if that happens who says another star doesn't get in their ears and convince them to jump?
And they're not going to land any big name free agents even with Horford and Irving's salaries off the books. Check the history. Boston has rarely been a destination for top free agents. The vast majority of their stars came either through the draft or trades. The only times Boston has drawn an all star through free agency has been when the Celtics have been good or ascending. Right now the Celtics appear to be going in the opposite direction.
As for Hayward, his contract has the potential to be a huge albatross. While he had some moments for much of the season my 43 year old fat ass would have been a better option on the floor. Unless he makes a MAJOR improvement next year that contract will be impossible to get rid of.
Right now in the short term I expect the Celtics to go with a combination of minor FA and trades while focusing on developing Brown & Tatum. There's talk that they can use their cap space to take on some bad contracts in exchange for assets. But whatever happens it looks like their back in rebuilding mode which would have seemed unfathomable a year ago.

But yeah they aren't going to take him instead of RJ or Ja.

In my mock draft I did last month I think Garland goes number 6 meanwhile draft experts thinks he will go number 5 to Cavs Highly doubt he last past 10
