m.tmz.com/#!article/2018/06/27/joe-jackson-dead-dies/ Joe Jackson the father of Michael Jackson passed away at the age of 89 2 days after the anniversary of his sons death. We talked a bit about him In the Michael thread. He sadly worked them boys to the bone but they also became successful. Just crazy shit

Curious how many of Joe's skeletons are due to come out now that he's gone.
Given his abuse of Michael is something we already know well, one wonders what's not been revealed publicly.

The abuse of all the boys as a whole in which her verbally and physically made them perfectionist. Me and my cousins used to quote the Jackson 5 movie all the time “go get the switch” but to think that could be true due to them not doing shit when he liked it is sad considering they were teenagers and kids Obviously movies highly dramatize things but based upon things admitted we know at least some of this is true

RIP to the great manager but horrible utterly trash father, ugh. Condolences to his family.
And I gotta ask something. Am I the only one who thinks of the Joe from American Dream when they think of Joe Jackson? I've seen that movie so many times that that Joe instantly pops into my head. I also think that movie made Joe waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy more sympathetic than he actually was in real life.

On another note that move is like 2 days long if you watched it on VH1 or BET back in the day
He still put the whoopings on them but they tried to portray him as a father who just wanted what's best for his sons. Though Michael still did say in the movie he had problems with his father and they did show that he was willing to dish punishment but they didn't want to have it come across as all out abuse

He was behind one of the biggest musical acts of the 70s and one of the biggest stars ever. How he got them there was by being a terrible father.
Condolences to the family and friends.
(And I also thought it was the other one, the guy who wrote Anthrax's "Got The Time")

That movie was on everywhere and it's one of the only movies I can watch repeatedly. Everything about it is classic from the scene with Marlon f***ing up his spin turns (unironically resulting into Joe beating his ass so bad his brothers felt that shit) to Katie saying "the Jackson 4 has now become the Jackson 5!" to the "Rose petals!!!" scene to Katie giving Joe a damn 5 piece like it's a KFC bucket lol. Too damn good. But yeah that movie made Joe out to be understandable albeit he went way too far with his punishment. They still gave him scenes like that part where he got his ass beat and he still cut a promo in front of his sons before he blacked out lol. They still gave him scenes talking about being worried for his kids when they got married but he still tried to be a hardass. They attempted to make him more George Jefferson than a straight monster.

RIP to the Jackson patriarch.

Very important figure in music history, but as a person and human being, I'll refrain from commenting on.

As a human being and a person he was quite probably the source of Michael's psychosis relating to self image and mental maturity.

I’ve legitimately only ever heard bad things about him. I wonder how differently Michael Jackson would have turned out if Joe wasn’t who he was.

Even if the movie tried to potray him a little more sympathetic, younger me still thought he was a sorry son of a bitch.

Does anyone remember the Jackson 5 Movie they did that focused on how horrible Joe Jackson was as a person to his family when they were just coming up? It was an older one but it wasn't bad.
