I don't know why, but I just lost it at the above panel when I reached the "Damn You And Your Lemonade!"

All the movies, even the Nolan ones, undermined the character's intelligence for the sake of making him an action hero. Yeah... the movies tend to dumb down the world's greatest detective bit considerably.... I mean Batman V. Superman he apparently didn't realize Clark Kent was Superman until the MARTHA!? bit... when Lex Luthor found out like the entire Justice League's identities.... and Lois Lane figured it out before he was Superman....

Good points. And yeah, I really didn’t even answer the question OP actually asked. Still kinda try’s calling Aidan Gillen by different character names bit, though. Nah, I think it was relevant to the topic. I think dumber was the stuff where he bought into Talia's scheme hook, line, and sinker, despite so much of it requiring him to make downright questionable decisions. You’ve seen Marian Cotillard though, right?

I've maintained that the Burton movies actually did portray Batman as incredibly smart, just by accident. The suit was so restrictive, it limited what Keaton could do. So it looked like it required very little effort on his part to outfight, outthink, and outmaneuver the villains.

For the most part, what little the first Burton movie did show in regards to his sleuthing was on the level we'd expect from Batman, just not much of it. Him being the one that put together the toxic chemical combinations list was a good representation of it, but it was sadly one of the few efforts they made on that front.

ASBaR reads like a edgy 14-year old's self-insert version of Batman... only it was actually written by a seasoned veteran comic writer. That is pretty much my description for Batman Hush. ASBaR reads like a parody and Miller doing another "OK you wanted more of MY Batman. Here it is." Batman: Hush is so terrible that I knew who the villain was before I knew there was a villain. Depends on whether or not he can get rid of a bomb I dunno. Some days you just can't get rid of a bomb.

Hush was so bad I sold my tpbs of it for the cost of shipping. I think it was $2.65 to ship the two trades to some place in Iowa.

Now I remembered something; the original 1947 serial where he fought "the Wizard" was him doing a lot of idiotic stuff. It's over at RiffTrax for anyone interested. well come on it's hard for anyone to look good when you go up against the greatest right hand man in the history of super-villainy: GABE!!!

Oh, and from what I've seen, he's quite the MENSA candidate in some comic Kevin Smith wrote, where he revealed his identity to his fiancee (who he had taken to places like the Fortress of Solitude and the JL satellite to impress her while they were on a date) as well as to a new Gotham vigilante he's barely met. Oh and after he proposes to the woman, he has a panic attack five minutes later and PHYSICALLY ASSAULTS HER because he started to think she was too good to be true and might be some villain in disguise. I need to reiterate: He waited until after he proposed to her before the notion she might be something else even popped into his noggin and instead of doing anything remotely like how Batman actually would, he rushes back and starts tearing at her before realizing his error, leaving her in tears and forgiving him as he says "my bad!" and heads off again.
Seriously. Kevin Smith. What the hell, Kevin Smith? What the serious, actual hell?

Given Batman doesn’t write for the New York Times, I’ll say no.
And no, that’s not political, NYT spoiled Batman 50 and Catwoman 1 TWO DAYS BEFORE the release of the wedding. And fans are PISSED.

I once had an idea that if WB choose to kill off Batman in the mid-90s, but reboot the series instead as a comedy starring Chris Farley as Bruce Wayne (whose parents didn't die as a kid but instead as an adult, inspiring him to become Batman) and David Spade as Robin with Dan Akyroyd as Commissioner Gordon.
