After hearing what a loudmouth the dad is and the fact that his company BBB (Better Ball Brand) is a joke that way overprices their items, I like too think what everyone else thinks?

This might be a long answer so bear with me
I was able to put up with Lamar while Lonzo was in college because this all seemed like a big act to prop up his son who's actually a really good player. However, he's an overbearing fool who seems to only care more about himself than even his boys sometimes. There's an article from a few weeks ago that I really didn't like that's basically detailing how his wife had a major stroke and he's saying shit in a sarcastic way like god shut her up for a little way that rubbed me the wrong way. Also going on TV telling a female host to "stay in your lane" is not going to fly. His son went to China and stole and he blames the university for not letting his son play when they said the suspensions are indefinite and he's mad because his son "suffered enough".
LeMelo who might actually make it to the NBA unlike Gelo was pulled out of high school and let his UCLA scholarship go because his father wanted to prove him and Gelo could play which means moving them out to Lithuania which both didn't last in. He cost both his sons a college education which one was still lucky to have after stealing in a foreign country and had to have the president ask to bring him home
The I can beat Jordan shit was cute and funny but he's a f***ing nuisance and his 5 mins let alone his 15 mins of him should have faded by now. He's calling out coaches interfering in his sons professional life. The media has thankfully stopped giving him some attention but they can't help themselves sometimes with him.
He's a good father in terms of being there for his kids and having their back no matter what but that doesn't excuse everything else

Don’t worry LeBron is in L.A. now he’ll bury this idiot and his shenanigans should he try again.
LaMar is using his sons for his little 15 minutes of fame before he totally fades into a footnote is basically the gist of iit.

I feel bad for his kids in the sense that he's set this unreal level of expectations on Lonzo and because of his circus act, have probably caused his two youngest to get blacklisted from the league.

I feel bad for his kids in the sense that he's set this unreal level of expectations on Lonzo and because of his circus act, have probably caused his two youngest to get blacklisted from the league. Honestly, I think his circus act probably is weird, because what he did for the two youngest is shine a light on a big double standard in pro basketball that people in America have never had a problem with, but should be talked about as a problem. By taking his two youngest out of school, Lavar Ball has managed to make clear a big problem in the sport: International players have the opportunity to sign for a pro team overseas while they're in high school or junior high age, as long as the team thinks they can play professionally... ...but American players have to wait until they graduate high school (and preferably, one year of college) before they can enter the draft. Even if a player decides to play in the G-League or overseas for a year before the draft, they still have to wait until they graduate high school before they can do that. This is a big double standard between European and American players, but at the same time- no one is willing to do anything about that double standard because no one wants to be the person to say "Wait a second, why CAN'T a good high school player drop out of school or get their GED so they can play professionally if they want to? It may be stupid, but it's their own choice, right?" What Lavar Ball did with his sons was idiotic to send them to Lithuania, but Ball was interesting because he was the first sports father to challenge that rule and say "you know what? I'm pulling my son out of high school so they can play professionally", and actually brings this debate up. Even if the Balls failed in Lithuania, the question should be said for "Wait, if a 9th-11th grade high school player is willing to get their GED first if they drop out of school, why not let them agree to sign a deal to play overseas or in the G-League?"

I have mixed feelings. This will be a long answer.
Let me start by saying I'm a lakers fan. Before drafting Lonzo, we were on our fourth year of missing the playoffs and being a bitch ass lottery team. Unlike Philly, we f***ed the process by drafting questionable players. One of them was the point guard at the time D'Angelo Russell. Russell at best was inconsistent and a horrible teammate that leaked a video of shooting guard Nick Young admitting that he cheated on his girlfriend. Russell was done after that, in one game the lakers even refused to pass him the ball and the fans booed him everytime he was on the floor.
During that time the lakers had a meddling owner in Jim Buss that ruined the team, to the point that his sister and primary owner Jeannie Buss fired him and put laker's legend Magic Johnson in charge of basketball operations.
Magic's first act was trading Russell to the Nets. That left an opening for a point guard. The draft was coming up and we had the second pick, the consensus pick at the time was Lonzo Ball from UCLA.
Lonzo was a great player in college, he was a great facilitator and playmaker, he also had an ugly shot but it worked for him. He shot above fifty percent from the field and over forty percent from the perimeter. He was basically the second coming of Jason Kidd but with a jump shot.
Around that time, they interviewed his father Lavar who claimed that Lonzo was already better than Steph Curry, a two time MVP mind you. Over the summer Lavar hyped and hyped his son to the point that starting their own shoe company. He also said that Lonzo would only play for the Lakers.
Then the lakers drafted Lonzo, Lavar proclaimed that Lonzo not only was gonna be rookie of the year, but that he would take the Lakers back to the playoffs. Then Magic Johnson during a press conference said that he expected Lonzo's number to be retired at Staples.
The first games Lonzo played as a Laker were in the Summer League and he did really good, eventually winning the MVP of the tournament.
Then came the regular season and it wasn't pretty. His shot dissapeared for most of the season. There were weeks that he shot worse than f***ing Zaza Pachulia.
At the end of the season he played somewhat better and other than shooting he played great at rebounding and assisting. Some pundits have said that his shot will improve and that he'll become a great player.
This is why I'm not confident. He shot for thirty six percent from the field, thirty percent from the three point line, and a pathetic forty five percent from the free throw line. He's worse at the free throw line than Dwight Howard and Deandre Jordan. That's inexcusable for a guard. I can't see how he recover from those numbers and only averaging ten points a game.
Lonzo is in the western conference. He has to compete against Mike Conley, Dame Lillard, Chris Paul, and Steph Curry to name a few. I can't see him reaching that level.
I think the hype killed him before even debuting.
Regarding the other Ball brothers, they're irrelevant, Lavar killed them by taking them to Lithuania. I don't think they're even good enough to be in the G League.

I kind of feel bad for Lonzo. His dad won't shut up, his dad is constantly hyping him, and he came into the NBA with huge expectations, for the freaking Lakers. He's got the weight of his family, a team, and a fanbase on his shoulders. None of them thought "Maybe we should let Lonzo develop in the NBA, he's got a lot of hype and pressure, it's probably best to dial it back a little bit." Not everybody is like LeBron, a once in a lifetime player who could go right into the NBA after high school and kick major ass.

If Lonzo can develop a decent shot he's got a long NBA career ahead of him.
The dad? Stop giving him attention

Peak 2017 was when CNN was interviewing LaVar Ball after his son got caught stealing in China and Chris Cuomo sternly said "THAT'S NOT A REAL SONG." at him for him singing some made up "Thank you" song.

I will give Lavar some credit he seems to understand we live in a world where he can go on national television say the stupidest shit and make bank.
Now what scares me is that what should be an act aint , dood is totally someone I am sure has a toilet seat with his own face on it in his home.

My only feelings on them is that I desperately need another segment of them with The Miz.

Can't wait until Lamar goes on TV bitching that LeBron is riding his son's coattails to success. If he hasn't already started that shit... which you know he will.

Well Lavar said that they would win a championship if they drafted Liangelo's useless ass. One of the reasons I wanted Lonzo traded to San Antonio was to see how Pop would deal with Lavar.
