I don't have a problem with it, in fact I think it's cool, it's just that I honestly have no clue how to play it. I've played it on a Genesis emulator, and I got the EA Replay PSP title which also included Syndicate, and for some reason I couldn't figure out how to get beyond arming/upgrading my guys and the briefing/map screen on the PSP one. On the Genesis one I could at least walk around for a little bit (though I still didn't know what I was doing)...so um yeah.
How in the blue hell is this game played?

Wouldn't know how to make that version of it work... but there was a cheat on the Amiga version that gave you practically unlimited cash - somelike like making your name 'Robabank'. Then, you can do all the arming you want... buy the Gauss Gun... buy it.

I loved the Amiga version, stunk at it but still loved it. It was the GTA of the early 90's.

I remember getting a demo of this for the Amiga and being just as confused with it.
Try Gamefaqs.com or something. They`ll maybe have a guide that`ll get you started.

It's not all that odd. And really, the Genesis version was more true to the Shadowrun franchise, but still the SNES game really kicked some ass with a good story and some good action/adventure.
