One of the surprisingly fun superhero movies in the last few years had a guy climb in a lobster tank and eat one, as well as having an alien living in his ass. Which one was this? Venom. It's said that's pretty much where the symbiotes go when they're not out and on someone.

All I have to keep telling myself is that Mary Elizabeth Winstead is playing a sexy superhero and thats enough to keep my interest in this movie.

{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler} Sure, Grace Randolph is far from the most reliable of sources, but if true... uh, yeah. Jesus Christ. Why does DC love f***ing up so much?!? No-win. They lose the people who resent any time casting/writing attempts to be "progressive", loses the other half because of how dated this way of presenting such a character is.

Sometimes, stuff sounds worse on paper than it actually ends up being, but if this sucks, I'll be really bummed out. I would like a movie with Huntress and folks to actually be fun. ... the f***?

I'm going to see this.... I thought Suicide Squad was really rough... but kind of in a fun way. The biggest problem with Suicide Squad for me was more in its place in the whole scale DCCU: they established their anti-superhero team team before the big superhero team existed. SSquad works as a paranoid govt. reaction to the Justice League (moreso than a reaction to 1 or 2 heroes, even if it was just Supes), not as a precursor. Speaks to the world of the DCCU, which just seemed terrible and not worth saving that much. I thought it had an interesting flow to it. The interpersonal relationships amongst the Squad worked well (Robbie and Smith primarily, a few others did good too). I thought the overall supernatural element was ridiculous but then we live in a world where they just can't go up against a team of other villains anymore I suppose. Gunn will have a field day with the Squad, because the interpersonal stuff will just be on all cylinders and he can probably come up with a villain(ous force) that the Squad works well against.

I mean I said from teh beginning the obvious villain is like Queen Bee... hell even change her country to that of Kahndaq so you can make a tease of Black Adam while you are at it... a black ops group of supervillains basically there to assassinate a monarch is entirely within the groups wheelhouse... the government agency showing up there they have issues... supervillains many of which ARE assasins? not so much. the whole let's get a team of supervillains to stop the alien godman that is bulletproof... we'll stack the team with people that use guns and hammers! is just flat out stupid...

That Black Mask thing is enough to ensure I will never watch this movie.

My biggest problem with Suicide Squad was the seemingly completely random selection of characters for it. I mean, they could've done something like "The endgame of our plan requires a long distance marksman so that's why we have Deadshot. Harley, our target is known to be unstable and unpredictable, we need to use your psychologist experience to get in his head. Boomerang, we need your experience as a thief to get past his cutting edge security. Croc, our plan requires ample use of the waterways surrounding the target, that's where you come in. Etc. Etc.". Instead it felt like they just grabbed whatever random goons they could find and sent them to indiscriminately kill monsters with no real game plan beyond that. Other then Diablo's super saiyan mode at the end there was nothing this team did that couldn't have been accomplished by an elite military unit that they wouldn't have to worry about keeping under control.

Might need help with my reading comprehension, since this doesn’t sound bad at first glance. Isn’t he saying that audiences loved it, but WB execs hated it?

Well I'm sure glad we have an expert marksman for the guy that is literally bulletproof.
