Apparently someone yesterday (Tuesday) managed to interpret code on the Star Wars site and somehow found the logo of Episode IX....... With the title. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Balance of the Force.
(Which, IIRC, was a leading contender for Episode I's title 20 years ago) Anthony Daniels had tweeted something Monday that many in the fandom read as "Ep9's title is being announced tomorrow." Tomorrow ( Tuesday) came........and went. So maybe that's the title and this nerd ruined some plans...? The logo was fan made, and Balance of the Force refers to: www.starwars.com/games-apps/star-wars-pinball-balance-of-the-force?ez_cid=CLIENT_ID(AMP_ECID_EZOIC)

People kid about Poe and Finn but the scenes with Poe are really the only time I find Finn the least bit tolerable. So of course all they do is conspire to remove Finn from any Poe related matters and put him with female pairings (Rey, Rose) and in those pairings he just...sucks. Either way there's no getting around the notion that Finn feels like an elevated extra not deserving of the screen time he gets. I tend to think this movie might tank, or at least underwhelm. Solo set the stage for Star Wars having lousy overseas numbers, so let's say this does about 900 million worldwide. Will this even turn a profit with those numbers? I think on Deadline they said Last Jedi made 417 million in profit on a 1.3 billion dollar haul. Sounds nifty in theory but they might have a break even point of about 900 million, which is nuts. I agree about the Finn stuff. I randomly thought the other day how excited I was for his character before and after TFA and my interest took such a nosedive after TLJ. I hope we get more Finn/Poe dynamic in EPIX

I can tell they are already skimping on the special effects

There is 0% chance it tanks. Underwhelms? Well depends on where you set the bar. Regardless though, this makes half a billion easily, probably a full billion.

It's Star Wars. It'll make a billion easily, especially with them pushing the younger cast and positioning Rey as the central character.
Plus all the merchandise with make them billions on its own.

Regardless of what everybody said about The Last Jedi, they’re turning up for this last one.
This sequel trilogy has been a source of bonding between me and my brothers. We’ve all gone and seen TFA and TLJ and even though I moved away from them last year, when I come back down to visit my family this year for the holidays, I’m making sure we have a day set where we can all go and end the trilogy together.

I think about the best they can hope for is a Rogue One performance. If they're really hell bent on pushing the younger cast and Rey as the central character that sounds like a recipe for anti money.
It's time to recognize this trilogy as the Kylo trilogy. He's really the only new character in it with any actual backstory or characterization.

This will absolutely do as well as the other 2. No real reason to think any differently. Rey being the main character hasn't hurt money so far, no reason to think it will here.

If rumours are to be believed, the third movie is going to be packed with fan service. Cynics will say it's to appease those who hated Last Jedi, while others are saying that as the true end of the Skywalker saga they want to pay off everything from the previous eight movies. Either way, I expect it to do at least as well as Last Jedi, and probably push for $1.5 billion.

I expect Episode IX to do a bit worse than TFA and be roughly on par with, slightly better, or slightly worse than TLJ in terms of box office revenue. Not because I think people are fatigued with the new trilogy. That's just been the pattern with the previous two trilogies. All the doomsayers with TLJ RUINING THE SERIES FOREVER were firmly rebuked with its home releases doing gangbuster numbers. And Solo was more likely an outlier than a sign of a trend.

I enjoyed the Last Jedi. It was an epic adventure in the Star Wars Universe, that left me wanting more at the end.
So I can't wait for the end of the trilogy.
Although I'm guessing Leia was killed off between Last Jedi and IX.

I would've preferred an Obi-Wan solo story, but yeah, not around the same time as DP2 and Infinity War. It could've came out in September.

Exactly. I think it was too much too soon with a story no one was really asking for either. I still haven't seen it yet. Just never really caught my interest even if I loved the casting of Donald Glover as Lando.

Although I'm guessing Leia was killed off between Last Jedi and IX. It's already been announced Leia will not be killed off, and plays a small but important role in IX, using unused footage from the previous two movies.

I'm looking forward to seeing Carrie one more time in Episode IX. I just hope the footage fits within the scope of the narrative and isn't haphazardly edited in.

As I understand it, the bulk of the deleted footage from Force Awakens was {Spoiler}Leia attempting to rally support in the Senate for the fight against the First Order, only to be turned down. If rumours are to be believed in IX this footage will be used for a scene where Leia is attempting to gain support from the rich elites to help in the fight, which leads to the possibility where nobody is willing to put their money against the First Order... except a certain wealthy card player, gambler, scoundrel...

People wanted an Obi-Wan movie, if we couldn't have that, people wanted a Lando movie with Donald Glover as Lando. We got Glover as Lando, but it was in a Han movie that nobody was asking for. I enjoyed, I had fun, but it's not a story that people were asking for. Also, it was way too dark, I don't mean in a story or plot way, I mean as in the movie's lighting was dark. That didn't do it any favors.

I've also heard {Spoiler}about a possible cut part from TFA where Leia gets a superweapon ship codenamed the Hammer that can battering ram hit Star Destroyers.
