As I understand it, the bulk of the deleted footage from Force Awakens was {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Leia attempting to rally support in the Senate for the fight against the First Order, only to be turned down. If rumours are to be believed in IX this footage will be used for a scene where Leia is attempting to gain support from the rich elites to help in the fight, which leads to the possibility where nobody is willing to put their money against the First Order... except a certain wealthy card player, gambler, scoundrel... I've also heard {Spoiler}{Spoiler}about a possible cut part from TFA where Leia gets a superweapon ship codenamed the Hammer that can battering ram hit Star Destroyers. Could be the two are linked. They can get their hands on this ship, but lack the funds to finish its construction, or need a crew, and Lando has both the money and the manpower. Either way it does seem likely that they won't have Lando just show up without having him play a big part, and they'll want to give Carrie a big moment to go out on. I'd presume the movie ends with a big space battle and simultaneous lightsaber duel between Rey and Ben (I don't buy that there will be some kind of babyface turn for him). Things are going poorly, when at the last minute the Hammer shows up with Lando and Leia in command, they turn the tide in the space battle, which distracts Ben enough for Rey to get the drop on him.

I'm looking forward to seeing Carrie one more time in Episode IX. I just hope the footage fits within the scope of the narrative and isn't haphazardly edited in. As I understand it, the bulk of the deleted footage from Force Awakens was {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}Leia attempting to rally support in the Senate for the fight against the First Order, only to be turned down. Oh wow, didn't know they actually filmed that stuff. {Spoiler}{Spoiler}It's all in the novelization, and features a young woman whose her chief aide. That lady is then sent to Hosnian Prime to pressure the Senate on her behalf.
She's the young woman on the balcony we see the camera focus on (for no explained reason, she's just some random person) when the Hosnian system is destroyed.
So that actress shot a bunch of stuff with Carrie that was cut, but they kept her death in the movie, and then the cut footage will probably be reused in Ep9 with another actor(s?) playing against Leia instead. Ouch. Also, I have a bad feeling Billy Dee will be featured, at least partially, in scenes "with" Carrie. A reunion of sorts, but we know it's not a reunion.

Saw that yesterday on starwarsleaks. I gotta say, I love.. {Spoiler}Reys outfit. Ridley is gonna look dope in that. And I dig Landos suit paying tribute to Solo. Also I recall for the last year or two, there were leaks talking about red searing over Kylos repaired mask. So there’s definitely been legit leaks already.

The movie will begin with a moving and profound memorial service, where one of the franchise's most iconic characters will be mourned by all.
RIP Vice Admiral Holdo.

I might be in a minority here when I say I enjoyed The Last Jedi.

Nah, Last Jedi was great. If I was ranking em, it'd be just behind the original 3.

Nah, Last Jedi was great. If I was ranking em, it'd be just behind the original 3. Last Jedi takes a dump from orbit over the prequels, and is better than Force Awakens by virtue of doing its own thing rather than safely rehashing A New Hope. It has a couple of problems, but most of the backlash against it is puerile fanboy whining.

Yeah, I mean, I loved The Last Jedi and while everyone has different opinions, a lot of the issues I've seen kinda boil down to "it's different and I don't like it".

Glad to see my dislike of the film is classed and neatly compartmentalized as puerile whining. I would, however rate it above Solo.
Just.

I too enjoyed Last Jedi, but it wasn't without its flaws. The Finn/Rose/Hacker sub plot for example should have been cut down or cut out. Trimming the narrative fat would have helped immensely in a movie that was already trying to juggle about 4 other story lines that were going on at the same time.

As in most of the "criticisms" fall back on fandom gatekeeping, holding Rey accountable for things they gave Luke a pass on in the OT, personal attacks on Johnson and Kennedy, ranting about SJWs, and mucho "Last Jedi killed Star Wars" crap that holds about as much water as Lucas raping childhoods. Last Jedi has flaws. A couple of big ones, too, but if you can't critique it without bringing in any of the above, then yeah, it's puerile whining.

I liked Last Jedi though it's in my lower half of the movies.

TLJ is terrible. Pretty much everything in the movie is wrong. But it's better than the prequels.

I liked Last Jedi well enough... it definitely had it's problems but all of the movies have problems... some more than others... looking at you 1+2. I think I only put it above the Prequels in my original ranking maybe above Rogue One... but it's been a while since I sat and watched all of the series. They did just cut off a bunch of plot points that Abrams was clearly setting up... though some of them still could easily go somewhere, but they really should have stuck to having one vision for the full trilogy to avoid things like that. Trimming the narrative fat would have helped immensely in a movie that was already trying to juggle about 4 other story lines that were going on at the same time. See the only reason I liked the Finn Rose sub plot is because they failed... almost any other Star Wars film (and film in general) their plan would have worked... it's nice to see a plan just crazy enough to work fall flat on it's ass.

The issue of Rey's parentage I fully support. People are still pissed because they didn't reveal she was a secret Kenobi or Skywalker, many of whom also bitch and moan that everything doesn't need to be connected. Ditto with Snoke. Ben is the money villain in these movies, run with him as the big bad, rather than Palpatine 2.0.

I like that with the polarization of TLJ, Solo, R1(to a lesser extent) there’s always the truce of “....ok but it’s not the prequels”.
