I think, based on the interviews I've read, he's going to be a bit of an anarchists, causing chaos in the streets of Gotham City.
I can see them going with a grotesque freakshow circus, like the Red Triangle Gang from Batman Returns (or the comic, The Killing Joke)
any thoughts?

I think they should as well. She's an interesting character.

Heath already said it's going to be based on 'The Killing Joke' Joker. Well that's what i've heard.
Which is awesome.

A great actor playing the part directed by a director who gets great performances out of most people he works with. Can't wait for this one.

I'd like a lil bit of Arkham Asylum Joker thrown in there too.. just a Reeeeeeallly creepy version that hasn't been onscreen before. I love Nicholson, and liked his take, but I want a full on unhinged Joker.

It's also a joker more focused on the original. So he'll be more insane than a comedian, which is what Nicholson's was. And his first crime was robbery and murder, he's probably a jewel theif. Batman goes after him, Joker becomes attracted.
it's going to be a more sinister one than we've seen before.

I dunno-Ledger seems too "blah" to me. I hope I'm wrong, but I wanna see a good, Killing Joke-style Joker.

But who would play Harley Quinn, if she were cast?
I'd think Brittany Murphy would be ACES (for the voice alone).

I read that Heath Ledger is also going for a 'Clockwork Orange' type of evil. Sounds pretty good.

After The Scarecrow in BATMAN BEGINS, it better be. The bar has officially been raised, thanks to Cillian Murphy.

I still say that, based on appearance alone, Vincent Gallo would've been a cool Joker.

I kinda hope Scarecrow isn't completely written off yet. I'd like to see him back in Part 3 or 4...maybe with a brute character ally like Killer Croc or Bane.

I still say that, based on appearance alone, Vincent Gallo would've been a cool Joker. If it was him he would also want to write the script. Which would probably involve the Joker driving around Gotham for two hours and Harley Quinn gives him a ( CENSORED-look up the film 'The Brown Bunny' at wikipedia) at the end.

I'm still surprised they went with Ledger. To me, his facial features are ALL WRONG for the Clown Prince of Crime.
Even Jude Law, who was also kicked around for the part, would have been a better facial match.

Yeah, I didn't say Gallo's an easy guy to work with. All's I meant was he'd look and act appropriately creepy for the role of the Joker. 2.) If the idea of Harley Quinn giving a little of the old...y'know...doesn't make you want to see the movie, I'd say there's something wrong with you!

I like to make gags on past film roles. Like once on an old movie board when the news that Ewan McGregor was cast as Obi-Wan Kenobi I suggested Star Wars Ep1 should open with Obi-Wan being chased by Stormtroopers while he narrates 'Choose The Force, Choose a Lightsaber, Choose a ship that can do the Kessel run in 3 pacos'.
