A new series where I look back at old Observer newsletters. I've seen that several people have done them, but it looks like a fun venture. I will be jumping around from years, but always starting at the beginning of the said year. Also, focusing on American promotions.
The first Wrestling Observer newsletter for 1992… wrestlingrecaps.com/2018/07/21/the-wrestling-observer-files-january-6th-1992/

From the Florida proposal that Linda went to oppose:
*The commissions representative may order a promoter to withhold monies payable to a participant if.......there appears to be collusion to fix, alter, or influence the outcome of the match.

I remember when we had the awesome weekly recap threads here, before someone complained and got it locked. Sure I understand why, but I still miss it

First person to say "Scott Keith did it first" has to go to their room ;-)

P.S. I just want someone to recap the issue where Dave lists ALL the lies/inaccuracies of Hulk Hogan's autobiography.

First person to say "Scott Keith did it first" has to go to their room ;-) I remember seeing a forum where someone had done a lot of 1988. Obviously, it's not the first time someone has done it.

Yep hence my comment, even if SK's have been the highest-profile recaps. Let's give him some competition though :-)

Let's give him some competition though :-) Haha, well I'm not covering the whole Observer (Japan and overseas). Just focusing on WWF, WCW, ECW and other American promotions. And, I'm jumping around instead of starting at a certain place. (though, if I did... say... 1999, it would start with the first one of the year.)
In any event, they are fun to read through and I hope you guys enjoy them... even if SK is a higher profile!

The Wrestling Observer Rewind on reddit is pretty freakin great...Even Dave himself admits it brought alot more to his work I've actually started to do a supplement to those threads recapping WWF & WCW shows that take place around the time of each WON Rewind issue that gets posted. It's pretty fun revisiting the Attitude Era through those (the guy doing them is currently in September 1999).

No wonder he wasn't well liked, he made Sting look competent and thus broke the only iron clad rule the WCW booking committee ever established. Even Russo and Ferrera knew that.

Pfft, they were just filling in space, I mean, reporting on Ric Flair's Daughter Ashley, what's she ever gonna have to do with wrestling?
