After a glorious World Cup, it’s time for players to get back to their day jobs. As I ask in every footy thread, keep it friendly here. Anything more than a mild piss-take is too much. So get to predicting!

I give the new Prem season one week before pundits are calling for VAR to be used.

I give the new Prem season one week before pundits are calling for VAR to be used. An optimist I see, I'd go for half time in the first game.

Looking at the squads for the coming season, one thing that really sticks out is how tiny Fulham's is. 21 first team players. I hope they've got some talented kids coming through, or they're going to struggle.

Burnley advance past Aberdeen into the third round of Europa League qualifying where they'll play Istanbul Basaksehir.
Aberdeen should be very proud of their efforts tonight and last week. Took Burnley to the limit and hopefully quietened any PL fanboys who say Scottish football is rubbish without ever watching a game.
Rangers and Hibs advanced to the third qualifying round also, as they'll take on Maribor and Molde respectively.
Celtic reached the third qualifying round of the Champions League last night, as their 0-0 draw away to Rosenborg following last week's 3-1 victory set up a juicy tie with AEK Athens. A tough cookie for the Scottish champions but not impossible.

Vicente Guaita, Cheikhou Kouyate and Max Meyer for a combined 10 million iscsome top tier business. Hope Guaita learns how to communicate with his defense and Meyer adapts to Premier League.

Last Saturday, Nashville SC suffered the worst loss in USL history to Toronto FC II.
For shame, Nashville! For shame!

Some Leeds fans not happy that the owner has come out and said he had to sell Ronaldo Viera to Sampdoria to balance the books.
If you're outside the Prem and don't have parachute payments, you're always going to have to sell players. With FFP it's even more important to make sure you're not going beyond your means.

I know it’s only a pre-season friendly but Liverpool looked really good again in beating Napoli 5-0. I thought Sturridge would be gone by now but he looks fitter than he has been in years.

Not a Brit, but Crystal Palace. Never a boring season, either it's nerve-racking battle of "can we avoid relegation" or something to be hopeful about in "maybe we'll get some European football next season". Probably won't win anything, so if silverware is your thing then it's not the club for you. Plays some solid counter-attacking football, with exciting local lad in Wilfried Zaha leading the attack.

I’m a yank, so one of you fine Brits sell me on which team to cheer for. What US Sports teams do you like? Some clubs have the same owners. For example, the same company that owns the Red Sox also owns Liverpool FC and the same people who own the Buccaneers own Manchester United. I’m biased but I’d advise being a Liverpool fan, If only so you can follow the same team as Liam Neeson, Samuel L Jackson, Damian Lewis and Daniel Craig. Yes, James f***ing Bond is a Liverpool fan.
