Yeah, really not the kind of bump anybody should be taking.

I see this in Kairi Sane's future. I think she knows, because she's using The Anchor to finish more matches as of late.

Matt's been looking really rough out there lately. I feel like he and Jeff need each other as a tag team to get through the end of both their contracts (WM36?).

Just looking at Matt’s tweets as of late and they definitely seem to indicate he’s planning on hanging it up sooner than later. Lots of collages of pics of him over the years, classic clips, and tweets that say stuff like “Come see the Woken Warrior while you still can.”

He did a leg drop off the cage which has to be one of the worst things ever to do to your spine Was going to mention that. I mean years of wear and tear from just doing it off the top rope is bad enough but jumping off that 15 ft cage...

Bull Nakano illustrating the long-term plight of all those legdrops. Wonder how she's holding up.

Yeah it's strange. You'd think luchadores would have short careers with all of the, for lack of a better term, flippy shit they do. But actually, lucha seems to be much safer than a any other style (besides Lawler-Dundee-HTM "Memphis rasslin") and luchadores can have long careers. Hell, Shocker (46) and Negro Casas (58) are not only still working full time for CMLL, they're also the tag champions. Lucha isn't based around taking bumps in the same way most styles are. Most guys bump MAYBE 10 times a match, it's a mat-based style that relies on taking rolls and holds.

I thought that move was called "Sabu and RVD did it first". IIRC, Sabu and Van Dam did stereo top rope leg drops and usually through a Table.

Hopefully Matt's body will hold up enough for him to enjoy retirement when that moment comes.

Kinda funny you mentioned Lawler there,I was talking to him a couple of months ago,and he brought up how it was only recently that his knees started bothering him after nearly 50 years of doing his fistdrop off the second rope and he never wore kneepads either

The Memphis style is great because you can basically wrestle forever, Honky's literally been hurt more playing guitar than wrestling.

Early in his career Lawler used to do some really insane bumping, stuff like Jos LeDuc throwing him onto the announce table from inside the ring. It was more that Lawler didn't do really stupid stuff every night, but instead saved it for a really big match.

I remember I almost got sick when I saw this bump it was so scary You can see The Deadman telling Hogan he has to jump for the chokeslam. Which the Orange Goblin was barely able to do.

Or give her the R-truth variation dude barely around doing anything anyways Or bacpack stunner too
Ryback talked on his podcast about that he regretss ever having the backpack stunner as a finisher, as it caused so much damlage to his lower back

Meanwhile Foley took a flat back onto concrete 4 times in a week to please every market in the territory
