How long until the rumors of him joining the WWE start, especially since Wrestlemania is around the corner?

Can't say I didn't see this coming. I'm sad obviously but I understand. He gave 9 outstanding years to the Patriots and gave Pats fans everywere memories that will last a lifetime. And at least he announced it now instead of dragging it out past the draft.
He is truly one of a kind. A character who you think could only exist in fiction. I'm glad he got to go out on top.
Thank you Gronk. I can't wait for the Party Bus to pull into Canton.

Meanwhile, I think you can hear a lot of opposing teams' fans jumping for joy.
Especially Steelers fans

WWE's not gonna be easy for him if he tries it. It's very taxing, and it really depends on how healthy his body is at this point to ground up begin a career.

Great player, great guy. Greatest TE of all time.
As for the Pats. Yikes. As of now 3/24 this is going to a rough year for Brady with a rookie LT, best WR off the juice and now loses his safety blanket. This could be worst than 2006.

There goes the greatest tight end that ever lived.
From Rob Gronkowski's arrival in 2010 to his retirement following the 2018 season - nine seasons - he played on a playoff team all nine years, was on a Conference Championship finalist eight times, played in the Super Bowl five times, and won three championships. And he was a focal point on basically all of those teams - when he was healthy they won (Super Bowls XLIX and LIII, advancing to Super Bowls XLVI and LII) and when he was hurt they fell just short (2012, 2013).
But it wasn't just the tremendous catches that made him the greatest ever to play his position, or the dominance in the red zone or the way he bowled through poor safeties or linebackers just trying to keep up, it was his blocking. Rob Gronkowski made a name for himself as an elite offensive weapon, he could have taken plays off in the blocking game. But he essentially was a sixth offensive lineman, protecting Tom Brady against edge rushers or linebackers or stuffing them at the line to allow running backs to get to the corner.
His departure leaves a massive hole for the Patriots but it's one that's not unexpected. He flirted with the idea of retirement last year, came back for one more season, and emptied the tank in the AFC Championship and Super Bowl. He had nothing left to give to the Patriots or its fans and we collectively tip our caps to him on a once-in-a-lifetime career. Unfortunately, the next time we'll see the big lug is not on a Sunday in Foxboro, but at his Hall of Fame induction in Canton.

He had a pretty good career. Arguably one of the top 5 tight ends of all time.

Gronk over Gonzo as Greatest TE though? Nah, Gonzalez is still the Greatest TE of all time. Granted, he played 8 more years than Gronk did. But Gronk would be a top 5 tight end. Him, Gonzalez, Shannon Sharpe, Jason Witten, and Antonio Gates. There's a few that are close to that list as well.

I think Barry Sanders is better and the best at his position. Gronk could be a total freak once he had the ball in his hands, he averaged 5 yards more per reception than Gonzalez and was an old world blocker. He helped keep Brady upright and assisted in giving guys like Benjarvis Green Ellis, Legarrete Blount and Stevan Ridley monster RB seasons.
He was a generational talent unfortunately sidelined by injuries and is the best to ever play his position.

I am glad Gronk has gotten a ton of recognition for his blocking. Of course it's hard to judge him among the all time greats since he had such a short career, but at his peak, he was arguably one of the best receivers and run/pass blockers in the game. He was something this game had never really seen before in his skillset. Really glad he got to go out with two great games that showed he still had it. The perfect way to go, as a champion.

Gronk's career is statistically the best ever for a Tight End. Just that Gonzalez had a way longer career which was also phenomenal in its own right. Of course that last stat would be .69.

Gronk should be ashamed of himself for not having gotten about 70 more receiving yards in his career, so that the yards/game stat would get bumped up to 69, too. I mean, he was 69 yards away from his yards/game rounding up to 69.

The NFL has decided to forgo the tradition of having the Super Bowl Champions at home be the first game of the season and instead, the Bears and Packers will play in the opening game.
The Patriots will though play their home game and raise their banner on Sunday Night Football in Week 1.

This is because there is no better way to kick off the NFL's 100th season then an legendary rivilry game

I think that Tony Gonzalez was just, for lack of a better term, a smidge, make that a nanomacron better that Gronk. Then again I won't disagree with arguments for him.

….Gronk is barely older than me.
Combined with me seeing how much even mediocre athletes get paid anymore, it makes me even more pissed off that my parents homeschooled me. WHY NOT JUST SEND ME TO A SCHOOL THAT WASN'T GOING TO PUT ME ON RITALIN FOR BEING "TOO SMART," GODDAMNIT?
