Let me reiterate that it’s ridiculous both that Aaron Rodgers made the pro bowl and that Russell Wilson only made it in after Rodgers dropped out

I think any fan still inside the stadium at this point should be given a free ticket to the game of their choosing in 2019. They’ve endured a game-long downpour in mid-50s temperatures to watch a bunch of Pro Bowl alternates and alternates to alternates play with the intensity of training camp in the middle of August.

I still think the Tank Bowl would've been better.

Shouldn't Bledsoe have two appearances? He might not have started against the Rams, but he got them there.

Shouldn't Bledsoe have two appearances? He might not have started against the Rams, but he got them there. True, true. I more or less based that count on actual playing time in Super Bowls as well as starting in them, which is why Eason gets 1 and Grogan gets 1/2 because SB20 was basically over when he got in it. But good point, since Bledsoe essentially "won" that AFC Title Game to get them to SB36.

They are actual having an opening ceremony opening night for the Super Bowl right now, leading into the Rams media stuff. Unbelievable.

The Cameron Jordan/Browns draft story is pretty amusing.
1) The Saints drafted Jordan in the first round. 2) The next day, the Browns call him to tell him that they will be drafting him early in the fourth round. They meant to call Jordan Cameron, the TE they actually were drafting with that pick.
The only thing that would have made it an even more perfect Browns story is if they got so busy with this mix-up that they let the clock expire and lost the pick. At least they got one Pro-Bowl season out of Cameron before he left them.

Ah, what the heck. I introduced the topic, I might as well put in my two cents on who I'd vote for in this year's Pro Football Hall of Fame class.
- Champ Bailey, cornerback: 1999-2003 Washington Redskins, 2004-2013 Denver Broncos: A three-time first-team All-Pro, a member of the NFL's 2000s All-Decade team, and one of the very best cornerbacks in the league for the duration of his career. Even when quarterbacks shied away from him, he still managed to find a way to impact the game. His 2006 season, with 85 tackles, 10 interceptions, and 11 passes defended was one of the best years you'll see from a cornerback.
- Don Coryell, coach: 1973-77 St. Louis Cardinals, 1978-1986 San Diego Chargers: The modern NFL offense would not be what it is were it not for Don Coryell and his "Air Coryell" offense. His teams never won a Super Bowl or a Conference Championship, but he was the godfather of the modern NFL passing game, and on that alone he deserves induction.
- Tony Gonzalez, tight end: 1997-2008 Kansas City Chiefs, 2009-2013 Atlanta Falcons: Possibly the greatest tight end to ever play the game. His accolades are too long to list and his induction should be a lay-up.
- Ty Law, cornerback: 1995-2004 New England Patriots, 2005, 2008 New York Jets, 2006-07 Kansas City Chiefs, 2009 Denver Broncos: His stymieing defensive prowess caused headaches for some of the great quarterbacks of the era, as he still probably causes nightmares for Kurt Warner and Peyton Manning. Also, it's getting to be a little bit absurd that there are no Hall of Famers from the Patriots dynasty of the early 2000s. For being the modern version of the 1960s Packers, 1970s Steelers, 1980s 49ers, or 1990s Cowboys, the 2000s Patriots are woefully underrepresented in Canton. Law, possibly the best player from those loaded defenses, is well deserving of induction.
- Ed Reed, safety: 2002-2012 Baltimore Ravens, 2013 New York Jets, 2013 Houston Texans: The definition of a ballhawk, he'd be capable of ruining an opposing offense by his presence alone. More than Ray Lewis, Terrell Suggs, or anyone else, I'd argue that Ed Reed was the most vital defensive player of those 2000s Ravens teams, because he'd be capable of quarterbacking an entire defense. If you want to know how much he was feared and respected, watch "A Football Life" and listen to Bill Belichick and Tom Brady concoct an offense built around avoiding Ed Reed.
