They're worth every minute. I've learned dozens of things from each episode. To be honest, I got hooked by seeing today's post. Already up to Children's Classics (Ep #9) and looking forward to a few of these especially PopClips (or, as I know it, Papa Nes and the reason why MTV came to be). Be sure to watch the Vegetable Soup episode. It does get political, but it's a great ep.

Just begun watching the Nick Knacks series, glad I wasn't even born yet when Pinwheel was just an Cable channel, 20+ songs in one hour? I can tolerate an three hour movie musical but 20+ songs in a hour of a kids show? I would have changed the channel

I would have changed the channel Yeah, but most parents would park their kids in front of the TV and I was a kid at the time and I loved the show. The idea of kids shows that parents and kids would watch together didn't really exist in the early 1980's. TV was used as a babysitter and 6+ hours of Pinwheel is perfect for that purpose. It was like a low-rent version of Sesame Street.

Powerhouse should be up later today for non-patrons, and to say the show got serious is an understatement.
(Content warning: Major Racism)

Also finally we're getting into animation very soon (Likely as soon as the next four announced), which means Danger Mouse.

Whoa.. Powerhouse looks like an awesome show!
Also, I had no idea that Ted Turner launched an MTV competitor. I guess it lasting 5 weeks is why I've never heard of it...

Kudos to the people making this for being realistic and not shrinking away from it, but geez... That's kind of hard to watch. Yikes, that scene would have been deemed too intense for even most network or cable prime time procedurals so to see it being handled that way on a PBS show aimed toward younger viewers was a brave choice indeed. So again props to the show for taking that risk and not sugar coating the issue.

Lassie gets its own episode? Huh, I thought that would be part of a separate video about acquired programming. At least this means that when they get to Pinky and the Brain they can talk about that "special" opening Nick gave them:

At least this means that when they get to Pinky and the Brain they can talk about that "special" opening Nick gave them: All previous acquired programming has had their own episode (Black Beauty, Adventures in Rainbow Country, Tomorrow People, etc), and he has mentioned that The Monkeys would be getting their own episode back in the "Pop Clips" episode, so I don't see why Lassie wouldn't get its own episode.

Lassie also had a long run on Nickelodeon, lasting through the eighties and into the nineties.

It's also pretty amazing that as soon as we shift from Schneider to Layboune that the more recognizable era of Nickelodeon begins. Because starting with Nick Rocks, it's a slew of shows that often get mentioned in 80s nostalgia for the network.

They never did that with Tiny Toon Adventures. I think they did it with the opening to Looney Tunes On Nickelodeon though.

I await his review of Out of Control. If I remember correctly it had like eight episodes and by the time my family got cable in the late 80's they had already been rerun to death.

I didn't know it only had 8 episodes but sure enough you're right: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Out_of_Control_(TV_series)#EpisodesI remember thinking it was funny and I just watched it on YouTube and it's funny to me as an adult, too.
