I dont think the pre show/build up shows are really hidden gems though. They kinda are when you factor in things like how earlier in 1993, they were building a Kamala/Bigelow match that didn't happen at WrestleMania (nor wouldn't happen), not to mention seeing a twin rarity of Tito Santana winning a match and Papa Shango appearing, period.

I dont think the pre show/build up shows are really hidden gems though. How are they not? They are easy to access, no different to a RAW. That Summerslam spectacular was on All American Wrestling along with all the other build up shows like SurSer Showdown. Maybe it’s just me I thought these were easy to see.

Maybe it’s just me I thought these were easy to see. There were 1-hour, Monday Night Raw versions of these pre-PPV shows, but that was it. AAW was almost entirely squash matches from Raw, Superstars, or Challenge combined with exclusives.

I have several AAW from the 90’s that we’re the pre show versions. I’m in the UK so I don’t know if ours was different to the US. I still have the Summerslam Spectacular 1993/AAW episode on tape.

Look, all I know is that I've been looking for the complete version of the Steiners-Money Inc. Cage Match for a long time and haven't been able to find it anywhere. If you've been sitting on a copy of it all this time and haven't posted it to the internet for my enjoyment, well then a pox on you and your family!

In the U.S., those 2-hour specials aired on Sunday nights, so they would have been a full week old by the time the next AAW episode aired the following Sunday afternoon. As I mentioned, they would air 1-hour versions of the specials the following night and billed them as Monday Night Raw.

I noticed during the Harley Race tribute video they showed a clip of Harley winning the 1986 King of the Ring from Foxboro Stadium, maybe it'll get uploaded one day.

This week's Gem is the 1993 SummerSlam Spectacular. Steiners vs Money Inc cage match! It's about damn time. Just watched it. For years I thought I imagined a cage match with these two teams where they kept going back into the cage. Glad to see it’s real lol.

Glad to see it’s real lol. Yeah, that was a neat little twist on that kind of match, and they had a great twist on the ending. Watched the match for the first time in years a couple of days ago, and it completely holds up.

Just...WTF? about that last one.
And second on hoping the house KOTRs make it. Remember reading about the one Harley won in WWF Magazine; also featured the first hint at Piper turning face as him and Muraco ended up facing off in the tournament.

They also added the Sunday Night Slam from 1994 before Summerslam that year.
