Question... for example the AWA Xmas night shows here, anyone from the midwest recall how these were broadcast? Were they live on a local Midwest Chanel? Just curious what the initial broadcast was intended for. And if it was live, were the Xmas night shows a big deal to watch after doing family stuff in Xmas day?

For the most part, it looks like WWE took tapes of the AWA's regular TV shows that happened to air these matches and spliced the bouts together to represent the shows as they happened. The 1981 card has a match where the announcer says the show we're watching is All-Star Wrestling (the AWA's weekly syndicated show), and the last thing on WWE's video of the 1987 event is an Adrian Adonis promo where Larry Nelson wraps up the segment by throwing to a match. The 1986 show, though, is an exception to this. From what I've been able to find, people in the St. Paul area (and possibly other Minnesota cities) could order it on PPV.

Is this the last week they are doing Hidden Gems or will it be back next Thursday?

Love these selections. Really hope this means every NXT house show is taped. I saw Roode have an AMAZING title defense against Strong that actually had the crowd believing Strong was going to pull off the victory in summer 2017. Also, 2016 at a house show I saw what I'd imagine was supposed to later be the Austin Aries vs Kenta blowoff match that was really, really good.

I believe the NXT selections were from a show I went to here in L.A.(or somewhere up north the same week). Cameras were there because they were filming for the Dusty Classic that year.

I believe they tape every show, anyway, both for legal liability reasons and if they need to refer back to anything, but that wouldn't necessarily mean it'd be in a "let's show this to an audience" levels of quality, like if they only had one angle or something.

They need to release more House Show matches. Or “Live Event” as they term them. And more TV taping matches.

Yeah, I would prefer Hidden Gems just be a section for dark matches and house show matches where they didn't record the entire card while saving, for example, WCW Worldwide or OVW TV matches until those episodes are uploaded in full.

Will we ever see that house show Royal Rumble Owen Hart won in 1994? Would that have even been recorded?

I've watched the Terry Funk vs Bret Hart match from the September 97 show and it was really cool. Is the entire show available on the Network?

Its not, but you can find it online under the name "Terry Funk WrestleFest". It's sometimes attributed to being an ECW, but from what I understand it was strictly independent from ECW, despite them having a massive presence at the show.

Yeah thanks, I thought perhaps it was under the ECW banner on the Network. Some of the matches just sound too weird to miss (RVD vs Dory Funk, Sabu vs Mankind). I can't find a full version on YouTube but I imagine I'll be able to see individual matches.

Any idea what today’s hidden gems where ? One is a dark match from Raw 5/2/2005 featuring Hanson from the War Raiders in action, another one with Ciampa in OVW in 2007. Can't remember what the other one was, sorry.
