I'm watching the new KISSology DVD and watching Ace Frehley totally owning his smoking guitar during the guitar solo for "She" at Cobo Hall in 1976 and it makes me annoyed how people always overlook this band. They have so many great overlooked songs.
The only drawback to this DVD is that in the timeline it's only 1976 so I'm starting to get sick of hearing the same songs repeatedly lol.
I'm also lucky enough to say that I saw the original lineup twice: once at MSG in 1998 for the Psycho Circus tour and then again in 2000 in Tampa for the Farewell Tour.
Celebrate with me people!

In the long run, KISS may be the coolest band ever.

In the long run, KISS may be the coolest band ever. Well, yeah. You had The Demon, Star Child, Ace from Space, and The Catman. What else could you possibly want?

I went to a KISS Konvention back in 97. Talk about a crazy time. Eric Singer and Bruck Kulick were there signing autographs. I just remember walking around while my dad waited for me and looking at all this stuff that I wanted to buy but would never be able to afford. I wound up leaving with 2 bootleg VHS copies of the reunion tour and a special 2 cassette radio show tribute to Eric Carr that WCWP in New York did a year after his death. I mostly bought it just because of the KISS Solo Records style picture of Eric Carr on the front

Wow, cool. I've got the kissology too (walmart one with the largo 77' show). It's ery good, but you're right, it's the same songs in different settings, lol.
I like paul the best. The mover in the band, the crowd talker, song writer, etc... But as an actual person outside of the band, i like gene the best.
Also, on the symphony dvd, anyone else start laughing when that guy is saying he's going to scream if they don't play the elder? lol

I've never seen the Symphony DVD so I have no idea what you're talking about.
I did however find it hilarious how at the Cobo Hall show they start doing "Let Me Go, Rock N Roll" but Gene messes up and starts singing "Rock And Roll All Nite" and then proceeds to forget the entire first verse so he just mumbles lol

Oh, on the symphony one, they are outside before the show interviewing people as they are coming in. And one guy wants peter to play dirty livin', "if they don't play anything from the elder, I'll be screaming bloody murder", and everything else, and it's just hilarious knowing the set list of that tour and show, and then picturing him after going nuts over it, lol.
I love that too, lol. They show that on the confidential video too, where eric singer says sometimes he get "so enraptured in what he's doing..he forgets the words sometimes.." and paul jumps in "nooooooooo" , lol.
I have a show they did before the 04 poison tour in austrailia, and they do parasite, and gene completely forgets the words in the beginning, and looks to paul for help, and paul just smiles at him like "you're on your own" lol. So gene just starts yelling "aaaahh, oh oh oh oh, ooooooh, yeeeeahhh" in time to the song.
