-My Blues are finally making some strides and in a playoff spot. Once Jake Allen, the worst goaltender who ever lived, lost his job like he does every year, our season really turned around.
-The Sens are projected to have 40+ mil in cap space next year if Stone, Duchene, and Dzingel all leave. And they probably will. Crazy that a team with Bobby Ryan's possibly league-worst contract (7.5 mil AAV) is in danger of not even hitting the cap floor next year. Woof.
-The B's are in a bit of disarray with Rask out and their scoring depth is atrocious. Much like Ainge in the NBA, many are critical of the Bruins front office for not being more aggressive with their short term window likely closing. Chara is ancient. Bergeron (34 next season), Marchand (31 ns), and Rask (32 ns) are all aging and only Marchand projects to be an impact player a few years from now IMO. Krug will also be tough to re-sign. They either need to make some serious adds to push this season or sell, because Toronto and then TB is a tough road to the ECF.
-Deadline in 2 weeks and so far it has been a seller's market. Boyle got a good return, Muzzin got three solid pieces. Very interested to see where Stone ends up. What, if anything, happens with Bob and Panarin.

Probably not gonna be too mad about this, but the refs helped the Bruins beat the Sharks tonight.

Blues beat Toronto to make it a franchise-best 11 game win streak. Not too long ago, I was looking at top 5 prospects because this team was so bad. Now we're 5th in the West with games in hand on everybody.

Probably not gonna be too mad about this, but the refs helped the Bruins beat the Sharks tonight. To be fair, the Bruins got screwed out of a first period goal, so one could argue that it balanced out. On the whole, the officiating that night was garbage. Saturday should be fun. Bruins have won 7 straight, St Loius has won 11 straight. Should be quite the battle

Both Matt Duchene and Ryan Dzingel to the Blue Jackets in Separate deals. Here's how the deals break down
for Duchene (and Julius Bergman)-Prospects Vitali Abramov and Jonathan Davidsson. And 2 conditional first round picks (I believe it's 2019's 1st for sure, and could become 2020's as well if Duchene resigns with the Jackets, otherwise it's 2020 2nd rounder)
for Dzingel- 2 2nd round picks and Anthony Duclair.
I dunno, feels like the Sens kind of settled?

I dunno, feels like the Sens kind of settled? Definitely not getting the deals for EK, Duchene, Dzingel that people would have expected them to get. Four 2nds, two 1sts, and some pretty average prospects. No blue chippers at all, which makes sense for Dzingel, but certainly not EK and Colorado will end up with one of Hughes, Kakko, or Dach most likely for Duchene who are very much blue chippers. Ottawa now has a ton of prospect depth, but it's all guys who top out at bottom-6 or bottom pairing-D save Balcers and that CLB 1st probably. Definitely feels like the league knows Melnyk is a bum, so they're just waiting out Ottawa who has now taken a bath on Hoffman, EK, Duchene, and Dzingel. The Dzingel trade isn't even horrible. If that was their only deal, you could justify it as just not being a seller's market. But in context of all the other moves they've made, it's just a snowball effect of poor returns. They need Stone to return an absolute gold mine now, but we know that pressure on the GM will squeeze him to either hold too long or accept the first thing to come his way. Either way, I don't think it'll be pretty. Dorion is in the worst spot in sports right now. You can't pay guys because your owner is cheap, the guys you can pay don't want to be there, and everybody knows it so you can't bluff that you'll just walk away.

Ottawa was f***ed. Everyone knew those guys HAD to be traded, so they weren’t giving in to any wild demands. It’s been said for awhile that nobody who was interested in those guys was even considering Ottawa’s asking price
They’re gonna end up getting f***ed on Stone now too. Winnipeg’s out after picking up Hayes, other teams are gonna say f*** it and grab a B level player to ensure they don’t get shut out. If something doesn’t happen in the next half hour or so, I think Ottawa sells him for a song because they can’t keep him just to see him walk July 1.

They got Brannstrom, which is about as well as they could have done given the situation. Still, one blue chip prospect for three top-6 players, and it was for an EXTENDED Stone. Just about worst-case scenario. I'd be throwing up if I was an Ottawa fan. And then probably again at the draft lottery.

But yeah, the fact that Stone immediately agreed to terms with Vegas makes the trade seem worse for the Sens.

A lot of people locally are worried because who many moves where made on the west and The Blues did little outside a depth piece. The issue a lot of fans are missing is no cap space. So the people they would need to trade to gain anything, wasn't there. Anybody they could part with but not kill there run, have no trade clauses which is harder to get waved.

The Penguins made a trade to Vancouver for Erik Gudbranson.
UrinatingTree had a meltdown during an NHL94 stream as a result.

Bruins once again needed the refs' help to beat the Sharks although this time, they didn't even bother to be close with their bias.
That Chara hit not a penalty? Seriously???
