Ray tracing GPU? Unless the tech becomes significantly cheaper between now and the PS5's release, it will be a minor miracle if this thing is under $1000. It is going to be a jockeying for pricing that's for sure
PS4 slickly went $100 less than Xbox last year but i'm expecting both consoles to be touching $600 at least
Iphone bumped its prices to $1000 with the X so the consoles may follow suit. Could be a situation where they start doing payment plans to if it bumps to $1000 but that would be very risky
Xbox experimented with payment plans on 360. It was similar to a phone deal, sign a 1 or 2 year contract agreeing to subscribe to XBL, get a cheaper 360 on credit. As someone who is always subscribed to XBL, and with the XBL/Game Pass combo coming, I’d definitely be open to the idea of it. It would likely sucker me in to adopting a new console at least a year before I would otherwise.

It should be noted, because it feels like it should be for the panicked people here, that we’re probably not going to get this thing for another 2-3 years and this was only really done to quell rumor cycles and the like.
That’s from the stuff I’ve read before, though.

I can't wait until it's worth buying 2-3 years after launch.

As I believe I said earlier, you aren't seeing the PS5 until 2021 at the earliest most likely

It’s more my own annoyance with people going “I brought my PS4 too late” or whatever and it’s like...No, that’s not how this stuff works.

You still got at least 2 years of this gen, we aren't turning the page yet. This is only being talked about to get ahead of the curve

The thing I am currently asking myself...since I am not really interested anymore in physical games and more looking at what games the PS store has (since that decision, bought both Mega Man Legacy Connections and the GTA PS2 trilogy, looking forward at buying Mega Man 11, the Mega Man X Legacy Collections and found out just now of the Ace Attorney trilogy being also available), would it make more sense for me to keep my PS4 as long as possible until the Store does not update anymore for it? Or what would be best?

Or what would be best? It’s a stranger scenario with this stuff right now because, from what I have seen, the PS3 store is still up and running with occasional updates (not actually big updates but still) and with PS+ they can afford to keep that running for longer so it’s not that unrealistic to think that the PS4 store’ll be going for a bit longer after. I mean, my own strategy is to wait and see because the PS4 I have is great and like you, I buy digital most of the time because it’s easier to organize and have when you want it so I can just transfer that stuff over with whatever system they come up with.

Or what would be best? I mean assuming they allow us to keep our digital games that be great because 75% of my games are digital unless I pick it up on sale walking past a store
For me personally, I know i'll get the PS5 and probably still retain my old PS4 as well just like I did last time until I sold my PS3

Watch it turn out that Playstation 5 is actually just a live corgi puppy, but everyone loves them and it becomes their biggest selling system ever.

The Project Scarlett controller will now resemble a traditional PlayStation controller.

At this point, it has to be like upgrading an iPhone right? How much different can it possibly be from the 4?
