If they must make a Flash movie it has to at least have the same lighthearted tone and humor as Shazam. I can't picture the charater being anything less

So Ezra Miller did a thing that probably isn't gonna help this movie's chances any.

Warner Brothers, probably: Don't be surprised if the discussion on removing Ezra Miller from The Flash just naturally drifts into discussion about Warner's radio silence on Amber Heard.

Sigh.. Make it. Re-cast him. The majority won’t mind. People will be relieved with a fresh Flash. As for the twist {Spoiler} fine, have it. Try to bring some semblance of “balance” or “normality” in your “universe” but DC needs to let go of this DCCU pipedream and just focus on quality enclosed flicks for a while, then, down the road, do a merger or two. But they won’t. They’ll reboot this. Until something goes wrong again, and then we’ll be right back in square one.

"No decision" made on whether or not Ezra will be fired from the film, but the script is now done. If all goes right, the big twist will be {Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}{Spoiler}that it will retcon out all of the Snyder movies, but will not affect Wonder Woman or Aquaman, and will pave the way for Robert Patison's Batman as canon fandomwire.com/exclusive-dcs-future-plans-for-the-flash-film-universe-revealed/Sigh.. The Warner Brothers (and Warner Sister) hold a meeting on how best to handle their potential multi-billion dollar film franchise. "I've got it! The solution to all our problems in launching a cinematic universe!" "Setting a ground base of interesting solo films before launching the crossover movies?" "Casting hunky and attractive no-name actors to help people immerse themselves in the characters?" "No! Let's sell DC Comics to Disney for $40 billion dollars and call it a day!" "It's just crazy enough to work! See you in Burbank, folks!"

Talk in the Batman thread about the similarities between Gambit's long and ultimately failed production and this movie's similar path led me to realise that this movie was confirmed to be in development just six months after the confirmation that a Gambit movie was in the works, all the way back in 2013 with Greg Berlanti in charge. www.hollywoodreporter.com/live-feed/flash-series-arrow-producers-works-595486Making a Flash movie really should not be this difficult.

I'm surprised this is still slated to be released at all to be honest and hasn't slipped into the nebulous "In production" section.

Well, when your franchise starts off helmed by the shittiest edgelord who ever was given a chance to violate something amazing with his vile trash, you're off to a rough start. Zack Snyder rubbing his sheer awfulness onto the DC Universe basically tanked the easiest franchise to make a profit with. It also doesn't wig out when you cast a moron like Ezra Miller who attacks random people in bars, and insists that the script be rewritten because his movie about the motherf***ing Flash isn't dark enough. Everyone involved in the DCEU should be cut with the exception of Jason Mamoa and Gal Godot.

Gambit will get made. Right after Gaiman's Sandman. 😂

They've made 6 seasons of a Flash TV show since that initial announcement. The seventh will likely air before this film makes any real start on production.

As an aside, really hoping to see Tom Ellis play Lucifer in that series as well. Anyhow, the way they keep pretending this movie is a thing is just frustrating. If they would just cut bait, they could start fresh and find a director with a proper vision. Instead, a fantastic character is languishing in pre-production.

why the hell are they still trying to do Flashpoint? Because when you whisper "Cinematic Universe" into the air, a Hollywood Executive pops the weirdest boner.

However many years later&boy that Flash suit still looks like shit. You're not wrong, but only Wonder Woman and Superman's outfits don't look like utter garbage in that movie.

True. With the Flash suit I've always had a problem with the design. If you want to make it armored up, that's still kind of dopey but fine ("it's to protect from friction!" just say the Speed Force does that already, it's not real) but all the unnecessary lines&piping just looks stupid.
