King of the Ring 1996 - Austin sticks to the PG guidelines of New Generation WWF and tell's Jake Roberts "Austin 3:16 Said I Just Whooped Your Butt!".
Seriously, imagine how different things would have turned out if Austin decided to replace one word in his classic promo.

Bret wins it.
By that point, the Lex Luger experiment had failed. WWE had killed that character at Summerslam 93. Bret was clearly more popular and deserved to win.

Much as you are right you also just killed the best match in WWE history up to that ppint by accident as a result of the rebooking here.
