I’m shocked that Fritz didn’t book some heels to beat on Mike after he recovered from toxic shock.

Seriously.... I'm going to miss Lapsed Fritz! I have a feeling he’ll be like Lapsed Vince and be showing up everywhere like on the souled out 99 show where Patterson can’t tear Vince away from that ppv he just watches it over and over he just loves that series of ppv’s as he says “Souled Out what a pay per view its a homerun every year!”

Stripper: Sprinkle sprinkle Xanax and Valium, Chris and Booray sprinkle sprinkle. Man I despise pro wrestling now. I need to watch that documentary. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen it I had forgotten about Booray and the erratic stripper telling tales at the club while an earlier 2000’s wwe ppv theme plays in the background.

I live roughly 20 minutes from where Terry Gordy is buried. I would've given anything to drive up and witness Michael Hayes filming this video.

If what I recall reading about accounts of Fritz's reaction to the tragedy is correct, I think he was already there. I...can't argue with that, unfortunately. I hope that when you met him he hadn’t met Booray or started with the ghb. I met Boo first, and met Chris through him. When Boo was first telling me about his roommate being Adams, I figured he was just another local VE glory days bullshitter. Again, out in the "regular" world, they came off as okay guys, and that's where I was always around them. I wouldn't find out about some of the other things in his life until months after last seeing them. On that note... When all of the ugliness started coming to light, I was deeply entrenched in the online Texas indy scene, and the only person who was making any sort of noise was a local manager/valet named Miss Lacy (she's the one in the bondage-ish gear during the Jake Roberts indy match in Beyond the Mat), and Lacy was not well-regarded online at the time because she came off intensely abrasive. So no one paid much attention to her when she was trying to publicly call Adams out for the girlfriend's overdose death while still working in the business afterward... It's something that's bothered me ever since, including my own role in it. Was Snuka all over again, and everyone was okay with it.

You couldn’t have known, there are a lot of stories about Adams conning people with his charm, and working them. The internet wasn’t also advanced to the point to find that stuff about him until much later, specially not in the early 2000s.

The one person that was trying to get publicly seek justice for the woman, we all just ignored and some even ridiculed.

There was no way to know.

I finally finished the last WCCW episode. I feel dirty.
Fritz may be the biggest monster to ever make it as a wrestling promoter. Yes, I'm counting Vince, Verne, Watts, and Jarrett.
I know the Von Erich boys ultimately made their own decisions, but you still have to feel horrible for all of them. Their dad was an absolute maniac hell-bent on the glory of a fake championship who beat his children. Their mother was an enabler of Fritz, but she was also probably just as fearful of his wrath. "You are what you eat" doesn't just apply to nutrition.
I know Kerry probably wasn't a "good person", and Kevin has his own sins to atone for, for that matter, but it's hard to grow up to be a morally centered person when you've got a carny conman for a father who beats you. I know he's not the most liked person, but I still can't help but feel sorry for Kevin.
Just an ugly and sad story that really makes me question my fandom, sometimes.

A lost gem
Fritz: Damn boy you’re a disgrace to the family, stop being fat!
Chris: It’s the asthma medication
Fritz: It’s the f***ing pizzas! Stop eating pizzas boy!

"I'M ROD TRONGARD......" That's all I can think of while I'm listening to the Super Sunday episode on the AWA journey. LOL

For how..... complicated Vince is, you can say he loves his kids, has a heart/humanity. Fritz is a guy I would pay Big Van Vader to take liberties on. Fritz raised that price, but his kids payed for it.

I walked away from this story arc feeling a little bit of sympathy for Fritz. I mean, I know he was the villain of this story arc and most of it was deserved. However, there is a small part of me that feels really bad for him. I mean, now, we use the Von Erichs as a parental warning like "don't push your kids into any particular trade or career because you don't want them to end up like the Von Erichs" or "you have to let your kids suffer the consequences of their actions or they can end up on drugs like the Von Erichs." But, Fritz had no such template. He probably thought he was doing the right thing by pushing his sons into the wrestling business, as it was a business that had been very kind to him. He probably thought he was doing the right thing by making sure the evidence against Kerry disappeared. Unfortunately, those actions had tragic consequences. I hope no one misunderstands what I am attempting to say. Fritz was a huge piece of shit. But, I don't think he woke up every morning thinking "how can I ruin all my sons' lives?" After a while, Fritz needed to correct course, but he just kept going down the same road, which is when he became a monster. As the old saying goes, the road to hell is paved with good intentions.

It weren’t good intentions Fritz had, he paid them shit as expressed by Gary Hart and the reason why David left to work for Florida. There’s also the story Kevin told about Fritz making him wrestle while being concussed and putting him in a shoot fight tournament in japan. Fritz didn’t push them because it was the right thing to do, he did it and exploited their deaths out of greed.

I visualize Gary Hart talking to the camera in the foreground as Pat and Vince beat the shit out of Fritz in the background. And Pat had that gimmick stuffed in his pants when he took it out. And that it was just a bunch of wadded up paper towel.

Slightly off topic, but I know that all of my fellow lapsed fans will get a kick out of this: Jim Barnett is rumored to be going into the Legacy Wing portion of the Hall of Fame. Much deserved. This guy was a huge power player in wrestling.

This guy was a huge power player in wrestling. He’s the father of tv wrestling but allegedly in his private life he was a piece of shit who pimped out college football players.
