Sounds like the Orioles got a good one in poaching off front office talent from the Astros.

MadBum has been made available. The rebuild is on. I don't think he gets the premiere haul back they could have got for him 2 years ago

Na, but it’ll still be a damn good starting point to restocking an empty farm cupboard.

A few years ago it would have been no doubt the teams best 3 prospects plus a young one
Now, he can still get a top premiere prospect, plus someone B level and a guy or 2 who is 17 with raw upside but you won't be able to tell until he's 21

I’m just excited the guy building the Giants is the guy who helped build the Dodgers.
I hate them, but damn they do team-building right. It seems there’s always a top prospect in the wings ready to step in.

Their best asset is still Posey, but I think trading him would lead to Giants fans beating the shit out of the entire front office.

You know what NY team could use an Ace with a post-season rèsumè a mile long and conveniently has some good prospects? The Mets!

Posey still has many years, a lot of dollars, rapidly declining offensive numbers, Father Time, and now a surgically repaired hip.

Rumor has Dave Roberts potentially replacing Bochy next offseason.
No thank you. His postseason overmanaging was maddening. (Not that I’d have to worry about the rebuilding Giants making the playoffs for awhile)

W/L might look better just about anywhere, but a pitcher entering 30 with two bum seasons behind him... proceed with caution.

People are willing to bet on lefty's though because they can last longer than right handed pitchers
Like I said you're not going to get the haul you once did for him but you will get something. Him and Kershaw aren't the 200 inning killers anymore but they are still one of the best even if they 150 innings of work

Unlike Kershaw’s back, MadBum’s injuries aren’t because of wear and tear which is in his favor.
1st injury was stupidity, bike accident.
2nd was bad luck, breaking hand on a line drive.
A full season, I believe he’s still capable of 200 innings. Maybe not the 2.50 ace he was, but still a damn solid top of the rotation inning eating pitcher.

Yea, if MadBum turns in a typical first half season for him and the Giants are out of it, best believe teams will be calling at the deadline and they would have an opportunity to make that move
The question is do you bet on him rebuilding a little value for more leverage in trades or do you trade him now while you have more teams in the market for a pitcher, especially one like him who you can put at the top of the rotation
Giants might as well see if they can take chances on some guys on a year deal or possibly 2 years like a Matt Harvey who they can flip for something if anything
Either way I don't see this team being the same it is now in 2 years

James Paxton traded to Yankees per Passan. Justus Sheffield, Erik Swanson and Dom Thompson-Williams go to Seattle in return, also according to Passan.

They still got money to sign another pitcher too but I assume that takes them out the running on Corbin
Yankees rotation now is Sevy Paxton Tanaka C.C.
Now whoever they get moves C.C. to the bottom of the rotation which is where he needs to be. Wonder if they try to drop money to get back Evoaldi. Will be interesting to see what pieces they get back for Sonny Gray. They got to make a big move without giving up Andujar.
I will be honest in wanting Kluber more but can't be sad about James
